Description
Idea behind this was a symbiotic living armor/suit for a fantasy based setting, swords and sorcery and whatnot.Essentially turning oneself into something like a monster for a period of time to fight other monsters and demons.
Dormant state it looks like a tattoo like marking on the hosts body, the crystals all over the body store electricity so it can make lighting based attacks also every crystal on a symbiants body acts as an eye enabling 360* vision.
Also is proficient at climbing, agile, can sprout sharp crystalline teeth and claws and using stored energy can do a chameleon styled cloak field around itself.
The symbiant itself has an overall intelligence and sentience of that of a dog, and in much of the same manner gets equally protective of its host. Often giving the host Conflicting views on people she may meet.
The means with which it bonds might be magical but once bondsed the symbiant genetically incorporates itself into the host so in no way could anti magic effects or healing spells get rid of it.
The change over to symbiant form is basically a rapid burst of genetic mutation, essentially morphing into a new lifeform, with the hosts mind in control of it still.

This is a very fascinating illustration. I, too, am writing a modern day roleplaying story about a symbiotic fusion between a man coping with being a host to an alien creature in his body that grants him power over kinetic energy. He remains human on the outside, but is slowly merging with the alien into a new hybrid form. I hadn't thought about what it would look like, but this does give me some inspiration.

Well i guess in this case its the fact the girls got a skin tight living suit constantly hugging against her skins seeping into every possible nook and cranny....actually I really don't know.

Not quite, the animailistic mind behind the symbiote is like that of a protective dog. SO as long as the host isn't a complete mindless idiot or insane they can keep it under control.
But in this world some random creatures have symbiotes like that bonded to them like wolves and such creating mega predators.

Cool!
So, are the characters born with this power or do they aquire it at some point?

Aquire it, most likely through a form of archaic ritual of some sort.

Maybe it's the tattoo itself that gives the person the powers?

Its more of a marking that seems tattoo like.
