(The story starts inside Tails’s Workshop. Tails is in the middle of showing Sonic, Amy, Blaze, Sally, and Marine his latest inventions.)Tails: I’m really glad you guys could come see my latest inventions.
Sonic: Us too, Tails.
Marine: Is there anything else you’d like to show us?
Amy: Yeah, Tails, your inventions are just incredible so far.
Tails: Well...I do have one special invention.
Sally: Well, show us!
Tails: Okay, here it is *Picks up his invention that appears to be a robot’s hand*
Blaze: *Points at the invention* Wow, what’s that supposed to be?
Marine: Yeah, it looks like it’s a robot’s hand.
Tails: It may be a robot’s hand, but it’s actually a shrink hand.
Amy, Blaze, Sally, and Marine: A shrink hand?
Tails: See, what you do is put it on like a glove. A laser comes out when you fire at something. Here, I’ll show you. *Puts on the shrink hand* Now watch this! *Points a finger at an apple and fires*
(The apple shrinks.)
Amy, Blaze, and Marine: Wow!
Sally: That’s amazing, Tails!
Tails: It sure is, and I feel proud for getting these inventions done. Heck, we could even use them to battle Eggman if we need to.
Sonic: Yeah, that could possibly teach that kook not to mess with us!
Amy: Could we try out your inventions, Tails?
Tails: Well...I’d...rather you didn’t. It’s just that I’ve spent a lot of time making these, and I still need to test them out anyway.
Amy: Oh...okay.
Sonic: Whatever you say, bro.
Tails: You guys can still look around, but just try not to touch my inventions. If you need me, I’ll be outside.
Sonic: *Gives Tails a thumbs-up* You got it, Tails!
Tails: *Walks to the front door* I’ll be back later! *Heads outside*
Marine: *Walks around and looks at Tails’s inventions* Just look at all these inventions, you guys! They’re so unique!
Blaze: Yeah, tell me about it.
Sally: Tails must’ve worked really hard to make these. *Turns to Sonic* What do you think, Sonic?
Sonic: *Stares at Tails’s shrink hand and chuckles*
Amy: *Turns to Sonic* Huh? Sonic?
Sonic (Thinks): Man, I so wanna test this baby out.
(The girls get suspicious.)
Amy: What are you thinking about, Sonic?
Sonic: *Snaps out of his thoughts* Huh? Oh, nothing.
Marine: Why were you chuckling at Tail’s shrink hand?
Blaze: Seriously, Sonic, if you’re gonna say something, spit it out.
Sonic: Well...I’m into testing that hand out.
Marine: *Surprised* Test Tails’s shrink hand out?!
Sally: But Sonic, Tails said not to touch his inventions.
Sonic: So what? He probably won’t know a thing.
Amy: Oh, and how do you know that? He’ll know something’s up for sure.
Sally: Yeah, and besides, you two are best friends. You want Tails to trust you to take care of his inventions, right?
Sonic: Of course I do.
Amy: Then don’t touch his stuff. He already told you.
Sonic: *Sighs* Yeah...I guess you’re right.
Amy and Sally: *Nods*
Sonic: Yeah...don’t touch Tails’s inventions...*Suddenly grabs Tails’s shrink hand* Eh, what the hell am I kidding for anyway?! *Puts on the hand*
Amy and Sally: *Gasps*
Marine: *Covers her eyes* Oh, I don’t like this.
Blaze: *Gulps* Me neither.
Sonic: Now, let’s see what I can do with this thing.
Amy: Sonic—
Sonic: *Aims the hand at a kickball and fires* Awesome!
(The kickball shrinks.)
Sally: Sonic, Tails is going to be really mad when he finds out you’re messing around with his invention!
Sonic: *Aims the hand at a plastic box and fires* I’m fine, Sally. No worries.
(The box shrinks.)
Amy: *Folds her arms in disgust* That’s what YOU think.
(Sonic continues to shrink anything in sight: a basketball, a chair, a laptop, etc.)
Marine: Sonic, please stop! You’re going to get yourself in trouble!
Sonic: Give me a break, Marine. Nothing will go wrong as long as we—
(The hand begins to lose control and fires at everything in sight.)
Sonic: *Gets scared* Uh, a little help her, you guys? This thing’s out of control!
Amy: LOOK OUT!
(The hand gets out of control so much that it ends up shrinking at Sonic and the girls. Sonic’s hand falls right out of the invention.)
Marine: Hey! What happened to us?!
Amy: *Angrily stares at Sonic* Sonic shrunk us, that’s what! *Look up and screams*
(The others look up and are surprised that Tails’s invention is about to fall right on them.)
Amy: Tail’s invention is about to smush us! Everyone grab it!
(Sonic and the girls lift the palm of their hands and grab Tails’s invention just in time.)
Blaze: *Grunts* Great! We need to put it down now!
(Grunting with a lot of might, everyone puts the invention onto the floor.)
Sally: Whew! That hand sure is heavy.
(The girls angrily stare at Sonic. Sonic takes a step back, chuckling nervously.)
Sonic: Oops. I guess I got a little too carried away.
Marine: You sure did!
Blaze: Nice job, Sonic! Tails told you not to fool around with his inventions!
Amy: *Lifts up a quarter* Look at us! We’re, like, the size of this quarter! *Turns to her friends* What are we gonna do?
Marine: Yeah, Tails is outside, and we’re too tiny to do anything!
Sally: You guys, there’s no point panicking. We’ll need to figure out how we’re going to deal with this problem.
Blaze: Yeah, Sally’s right. We have to figure out how we’re going to return to our normal sizes.
Sonic: *Yawns* You girls go ahead. I’ll catch up another time.
(The girls look at Sonic, annoyed.)
Amy: Hmph!
(The scene changes to outside. Tails is taking a little walk around his workshop when he suddenly sees Vanilla, Cream, and Cheese coming his way. They are all eating ice cream in cones: Cream with strawberry, Cheese with chocolate, and Vanilla with vanilla.)
Cream: Thanks for getting us ice cream, Mom.
Cheese: Chao.
Vanilla: My pleasure, dears.
Tails: *Waves* Hey! Vanilla! Cream! Cheese! *Walks up toward Vanilla, Cream, and Cheese*
(Cream, Cheese, and Vanilla notice Tails and wave back. They walk up toward him.)
Cream: Hi, Tails!
Cheese: Chao!
Vanilla: Oh, hi, Tails! I just got my daughter and Cheese some ice cream.
Tails: Boy, that sure looks yummy.
Cream: It sure is. Are Mr. Sonic and the others around?
Tails: Of course. They are in my workshop right now. I was giving them a tour of my latest inventions.
Cheese: *Excited* Chao!
Cream: *Excited* Wow, that’s amazing! Can we see your inventions, too?
Tails: Sure you can, as long as you don’t touch them. I worked very hard on them. *Thinks* I just hope Sonic and the others remembered, though. I told them not to touch anything as well. *Leads Vanilla, Cream, and Cheese into the workshop*
(The scene changes back inside the workshop, where Amy, Blaze, Sally, and Marine are still trying to think of an idea to solve their problem. Sonic lies on his back like he’s on the beach.)
Sonic: Well, we could stay like this forever.
Sally: Come on, Sonic. We have to think of something.
Blaze: *Thinks* Hey, what does Tails always suggest we do if we’re stuck on a problem?
Marine: Yeah, what’s that dance?
Amy: *Gasps* The Noodle Dance! We always get creative ideas by doing it!
Marine: If we’re going to do that dance, we’d better think of a lot of ideas.
Amy: Come on, everyone, let’s get to it!
Sonic: You all knock yourselves out. I’ll just lie down right here.
(The Noodle Dance sequence starts. Amy, Blaze, Sally, and Marine begin to dance when Sonic lies down with his eyes closes. However, Sonic jumps up and ends up joining in.)
The Noodle Dance Voices: 🎵Noodle, use your noodle
Noodle, do the Noodle Dance🎶
🎶Use your noodle, use your brain🎵
Marine: *A lightbulb appears above her head* Hey, I know!
(The background changes back to Tails’s Workshop.)
Sonic: What?! What is it?!
Marine: Why don’t we invent our own hand that will make us big again.
(A fantasy scene shows Sonic and the girls with a large robot hand that returns them to their normal sizes.)
Sonic: Hey, wait a second, we’re too small now, remember? Even if we did try to invent something as ants, it wouldn’t do us any good.
(The scene changes back to reality, which is Tails’s Workshop.)
Marine: Oh, yeah.
Blaze: Why don’t we get Tails. He’ll probably know what to do.
Sonic: That could be a good idea. That is, if we were our normal sizes.
Sally: Sonic’s right. We need to think from a tiny point of view.
(Suddenly the door creaks open, startling Sonic and the girls.)
Amy: What was that?!
(They see Giants Tails, Vanilla, Cream, and Cheese coming inside.)
Sally: Hey, that looks like Tails and Vanilla!
Marine: And Cream and Cheese!
(Tails, Cream, Cheese, and Vanilla freeze and notice the shrunken objects.)
Tails: *Surprised* Huh?! What-what happened in here?! Why is everything so tiny?!
Blaze: We need to yell for help! *Cups her hand to her mouth* HELP! TAILS! CREAM!
Amy: *Cups her hands to her mouth* VANILLA! CHEESE! HELP!
Sally: HELP US! WE’RE TINY!
Marine: HEY! DOWN HERE! WE NEED HELP!
Tails: Hey Cream, do you hear anything?
Cream: *Shakes her head* Not really.
Cheese: *Shakes his head* Chao.
Tails: Well, something strange might be going on around here. Everything is so small. *Looks down and notices that his shrink hand hasn’t shrunken* Except this. *Picks his invention up*
Vanilla: What is it, Tails?
Tails: It’s one of my latest inventions. It’s a shrink hand. It looks like somebody got a little too carried away with it.
Cream: You don’t think Sonic may have anything to do anything with it, do you, Tails?
Tails: I-I don’t think so, Cream. At least I’m sure I don’t think so. I mean, Sonic wouldn’t do anything like that. Hey, I wonder where he is. And Amy, Blaze, Sally, and Marine.
Vanilla: *Picks up some of the tiny objects off the table* Well, from what I’m guessing, they probably...
Tails: *Gasps* Oh my God.
Cream: What’s wrong, Tails?
Tails: Sonic and the others may have shrunk themselves.
Cream: Oh, no!
Cheese: Chao!
Vanilla: We need to be extremely careful not to step on them if we see them.
Amy: Rats! It’s no use! They can’t even hear us! *Turns to Sonic and points at him* This is all your fault! If you haven’t fooled around with Tails’s invention to begin with, we probably wouldn’t be in this mess!
Sonic: Come on, Amy! I just wanted to see for myself!
Sally: Let’s not get into an argument, you guys! We need to keep thinking.
Blaze: Yeah, Sally’s right.
(Sonic and the girls think.)
Sally: Hmmmm....*Spots a piece of paper on the floor* Hey, I got it!
Marine: Huh?
Amy: What is it, Sally?
Sally: *Picks up the paper* We can use this paper as an airplane.
Sonic: Yeah? And how’s that gonna work?
Sally: *Folds the paper* Don’t you get it, Sonic. We can use this to launch it into the air, and then Tails will see it.
Marine: That’s a great idea, Sally!
(The scene cuts to Sonic and the girls holding up the paper airplane. They are lined up in an order from front to back: Sally, Amy, Blaze, Marine, and Sonic.)
Sally: Everyone ready?
Marine: Yeah, Sally.
Sally: Okay! 3...2...1...BLAST OFF!
(Sonic and the girls throw the airplane with all their might. However, it backfires and falls to the ground.)
Sally: Dang it!
Marine: *Lightens up* Hey, I’ve got another idea!
Blaze: What’s that?
Marine: Why don’t we make a human tower to alert Tails? He’ll notice us for sure.
Sally: *Thinks* Well, it IS worth a shot. Let’s try it out.
(The scene cuts to Sonic and the girls with their human tower. They are in order from bottom to top: Sonic, Blaze, Amy, Sally, and Marine.)
Marine: *Waves* TAILS! HELP US! WE’RE DOWN HERE!
Amy: *Grunts* Could you please hurry up, Marine? I don’t know how much longer I can hold.
Blaze: *Grunts* Yeah. Me too.
Marine: *Waves* Don’t worry, you guys. I almost—
(Suddenly the tower begins to wobble.)
Marine: WOAH!
Sally: MARINE!
(Sonic and the girls scream when their tower collapses onto the ground.)
Amy: Well, that worked.
Marine: Just a minor setback, that’s all.
(Tails searches for Sonic and the girls with a magnifying glass.)
Cream: Do you see them yet, Tails?
Tails: Not yet, but I’ll see them when they’re in my view.
Cream: Oh, I hope so.
Cheese: Chao.
Blaze: Now what?
Amy: Hmmm...*Gasps* Hey, I think I’ve got the answer!
Sonic: Huh?!
Marine: You do?!
Sally: What is it?!
Amy: Sonic, come with me.
(Sonic follows Amy to the paper airplane.)
Amy: Now lift me onto the plane.
Sonic: Okay, Amy. *Grunts, picks Amy up and positions her onto the plane*
Marine: What are you doing, Amy?
Amy: Just watch. Now Sonic, lift the plane up.
Sonic: *Grunts and lifts up the plane* All right, it’s up.
Blaze: Amy, what are you going to do?
Amy: Sonic’s going to launch ME into the air this time.
Sally: *Thinks* So you can alert Tails that we’re small. Hey, great thinking, Amy!
Amy: Okay, Sonic, on the count of three, I want you to throw me in the air. You ready?
Sonic: Ready!
Amy: All right! 1...2...3!
(Sonic throws Amy into the air.)
Marine: Go Amy!
(Cream is also searching for Sonic and the girls with binoculars.)
Cream: I can’t still see them, Tails. *Suddenly sees the paper airplane with Amy on it* Huh? *Gasps* Amy? I can’t believe it!
Tails: What is it, Cream? You found Sonic? *Looks through the magnifying glass and sees Amy on the plane* Amy?!
Amy: *Waves* Hi, Tails!
Tails: My God! Amy! It’s you! Are you, Sonic, and the others okay?
Cheese: Chao?
Vanilla: What happened? Is everything okay?
Tails: We found Amy! *Gives Vanilla the magnifying glass*
Vanilla: *Looks through the magnifying glass* Oh my goodness! It IS her! Where’re you and the others, Amy?
Amy: *Points down toward Sonic, Blaze, Sally, and Marine* We’re down there!
Vanilla: *Spots Sonic, Blaze, Sally, and Marine* Oh, my! We need to get you back to your normal sizes right away!
Amy: Yeah, well, tell that to Sonic. He’s the one who caused this crap in the first place.
Sonic: Yeah, yeah, blame it all on me!
Cream: Don’t you have some invention that would make Sonic and the others big again, Tails?
Tails: *Thinks* Hmmm...I think I still do. Let me check. I’ll be right back!
(The scene cuts to Sonic, Amy, Blaze, Sally, and Marine on the table between Tails’s inventions.)
Marine: Oh, Tails, please hurry.
Vanilla: Don’t you worry, dear. He’ll know what to do, I hope.
(Tails rushes back with one of his old inventions that’s a robot boot.)
Tails: Sorry it took so long, you guys.
Sonic: *Points at the boot* Whatcha got there?
Tails: Well, it’s my growth boot. It makes anything grow.
Amy: You mean like us?
Tails: *Puts the boot on his foot* Exactly, Amy!
Marine: Will a laser come out and aim at only one of us?
Tails: Even better, Marine! Multiple lasers will appear from this thing!
Sally: Well, this could be it.
Tails: Vanilla, Cream, Cheese, stand back!
(Vanilla, Cream, and Cheese step back.)
Tails: *Flies onto the table and aims the boot in the direction of Sonic and the girls* Are you guys ready.
Sonic: Ready when you are!
Tails: Okay, here goes nothing! *Stomps*
(Five lasers from the boot fire at Sonic and the girls. Then Tails aims the boot at every object else that was shrunken. Soon everything is back to normal.)
Amy: We’re big again!
Blaze: I can’t believe your invention actually worked on us, Tails!
Sonic: Yeah, thank God!
Tails: *Gives Sonic a high-five* Problem solved!
Vanilla: You all need to be very careful when you use something that can be dangerous.
(Everyone angrily stares at Sonic.)
Sonic: What?
Tails: You didn’t take proper care of my shrink hand, Sonic! You five should be so lucky to be alive right now, otherwise you would’ve been in pieces!
Sonic: Maybe we would have, but we didn’t, did we?
Tails: Couldn’t you try to listen to me next time?
Sonic: *Shrugs and chuckles*
Tails: Why don’t we take a break from my inventions? I think we’ve had enough for one day, don’t you think?
Amy: You bet we did!
Blaze: *Nods* Oh, yeah!
Vanilla: Everybody up for the park?
Tails: *Gives a thumbs-up* You bet!
Cream: Okay, Mom!
Cheese: Chao!
Marine: Let’s go!
(The story ends with everyone enjoying the rest of the day at the park: Sonic sitting and relaxing under a tree; a tea party with Vanilla, Cream, Cheese, Amy, and Blaze; and Tails, Sally, and Marine throwing a football to each other.)
