Description The main service rifle of the post-war Philippine Army. Fully issued to the Army between 1946 and 1947, following the formation of the Armed Forces of the Philippines after declared its formal independence from the US. They were effectively used during the Korean war, Huk insurgency and to the Vietnam war. They were continued in service until the replacement of M16 and M14 in 1970's. Today, it is currently used as training and ceremonial rifles by the Honor Guards of the Philippine Army and Marines. They were also currently used by CAFGU units and some were stored for ROTC and civil defense use.
