FAQ #62: How do I use Journal skins?
How to add a question?
Copy/Paste the following code (make sure to be in html mode)
Had this journal skin uploaded on a different account, but I'm moving some of the skins to this one.
Slightly modified since the first upload.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
2011-11-04: Fixed the answer box that looked messed up if using Safari and Chrome
These days I don't use any tutorials etc when I make a skin, but I might as well thank everyone here on deviantart who ever made a CSS tutorial. It's very possible that I've read it when I first started. Especially ginkgografix for her more than amazing tutorials and references. Now I mainly go here when there's something I need or just play around until I find what I'm looking for.

Oh you know I've been looking for a code that is similar to this on the concept of having a box for your info but not seen until clicked (or in your case hoovered). I was wondering if you wouldn't mind I use the code so that I could finally have that same concept in my journal for the areas I want it for. I am wanting to try this hidden box concept for my long resource journal as I think it would help cut down the stretch so the person only sees each area at the time they want to focus on it. I wanted to ask of course because I wouldn't actually use this journal just the structure code for that bit only, that I would altered to fit my journal needs. IF not, I understand but than I ask if you wouldn't mind sharing another source that I can check to find a similar code? (I know you do your own coding but who knows, you might know of good resources that I dont know) xD I had mentioned to Gink already ( [link] ) and she suggested those who might and of those, lady replied to me and guided me here. ^^

What do you consider to be minor edits? There's a very text-heavy journal that I would like to condense down, and your code would be handy for it, but with the styling I would have to do to get it to fit in with the layout, I'm afraid that that would be too much to be considered minor...
Just wanted to clarify before I played with it too much. =3

This is not to be used as an add-on (or whatever you'd like to call it). It's to be used as it is, with small changes like colors, font (-family, -size, etc.) and similar.

Yet!
It's quite handy sometimes I don't get the question I have listed anymore. Or well, every now and then one of them pop up, but it's been reduced a lot.
Answering the same questions over and over and over again gets boring after a while

I don't get as many repeating questions Most of them are unique, except for people asking me "how do I make emotes" which is much more difficult to answer

So glad you updated and reuploaded it! Though you might want to make it so that it supports the new journal page, the background looks different there, so you won't get away with making the background transparent anymore.

Hmmm, it looks like it's supposed to, for me at least. Tried firefox, explorer, opera, chrome and safari.
Only thing I noticed is a bit off, is the padding in chrome and safari (will update it soon). Other than that, nothing.
Do you mean an upcoming update?

No, wait, try to edit it in Writer

I'm not going back in there!!
Fine, I will....
And YAAAY they've put the old journal edit back, again...!
But I think I understand what you mean.
The journal background will be transparent to whatever color the main background has. Since the StashWriter is close to white, the journal will get the same. But when you upload it, it will be transparent to the regular deviant green background on your journal/profile page.
I edited the info journal using the writer yesterday. And background wise it's just like it's supposed to. Atleast for me
Have you tried to upload the journal, or have you just looked at it in the writer?
Oh, and thank you so much for charing, It's really appreciated
