GOSPEL ACCORDING TO SAINT LUKE - CHAPTER 23

49 All his friends and the women who had accompanied him from Galilee remained at a distance, contemplating what had happened.

50 Then a member of the Council came, named Joseph, an upright and just man,

51 that he had disagreed with the decisions and attitudes of others. He was from Arimathea, a city in Judea, and was waiting for the Kingdom of God.

52 He went to see Pilate to ask for the body of Jesus.

53 After taking him down from the cross, he wrapped him in a linen cloth and placed him in a tomb dug in the rock, where no one had been buried.

54 It was the day of Preparation, and the Sabbath had already begun.

55 The women who had come from Galilee with Jesus followed Joseph, looked at the tomb, and saw how he had been buried.

56 Then they returned and prepared the balms and perfumes, but on the Sabbath they observed the rest prescribed by the Law.

49 Todos sus amigos y las mujeres que lo habían acompañado desde Galilea permanecían a distancia, contemplando lo sucedido.
50 Llegó entonces un miembro del Consejo, llamado José, hombre recto y justo,
51 que había disentido con las decisiones y actitudes de los demás. Era de Arimatea, ciudad de Judea, y esperaba el Reino de Dios.
52 Fue a ver a Pilato para pedirle el cuerpo de Jesús.
53 Después de bajarlo de la cruz, lo envolvió en una sábana y lo colocó en un sepulcro cavado en la roca, donde nadie había sido sepultado.
54 Era el día de la Preparación, y ya comenzaba el sábado.
55 Las mujeres que habían venido de Galilea con Jesús siguieron a José, observaron el sepulcro y vieron cómo había sido sepultado.
56 Después regresaron y prepararon los bálsamos y perfumes, pero el sábado observaron el descanso que prescribía la Ley.
