After chatting with Sio--([link] ) for quite awhile ago, I decided to do something about my disability to draw popular creatures like horses, canines and felines. And heres a try for a horse. It ain't very good, but compared with my earlier attempts, this ones excelent XDBut don't worry, I'll keep on trying
I picked a rather bulky horse as model for rapidash becuse of the hair on the hoves (dunno the name in english), but with thouse "happy" colors, my rapidash reminds me of a "My little pony" now XD

The general term for the bulky horse is called Draft. They come in breeds like Clydesdales and Shires and Gypsys.Β

Wild Rapidash can indeed be tamed, but there is also a domesticated variety in Johto. This draft-type horse was bred from tamed wild Rapidash to produce a large and powerful animal that lacks the blinding speed of their wild racehorse cousins.

This rapidash sure looks peacable for a pokemon which will chase down anything that moves. Little else to say about this. Are flames really alien for your liking? I noticed most fire pokemon of yours don't have visible flames.

Ah, yes.
I really can't stand "burning" pokΓ©mon. It just don't make enough sense for my taste... Fire requiers *lots* of energy and would be extreamly expenssive for an animal to produce. Fire is a dangerous thing too, the odds of them burning up their own habitat is huge and they wouldn't want that I assume o.O
I suppose there's ways to make up not too farfetched theories (like the one you suggested for blaziken) but... I don't like the idea of creatures making things burn. So it comes don't to a mere "matter of taste" in the end I guess

I think the bulky,furry horse you were thinking of is a shetland.There is no correct way to realism a pokemon,but this is the best rapidash i've seen so far.Is there a "use" for the colorful mane?Like,the brighter,the more attractive to females?Just a suggestion.

A clydesdale is a great model for rapidash or a shire or a percheron but I think that it might look better on a thorobred they are fast but the quarter horse is faster they can do 55 miles over a quarter of a mile. you did a great job. I love your drawing maybe try drawing it with tack.

Yup, a Clydesdale. They're more of a puller horse, not one for racing. They're all muscle, and not lean like a Rapidash. You're better off using a race horse for a base. Otherwise, I love it.

it's not all that bad as far as equine drawing goes, but my nly crit is that rapidash is supposed to be incredibly fast, right? That horse you've drawn looks native pony-ish, so hardy and strong, but not quick. I suggest for future references Akhal-tekes or more likely hunters, which are strong, enduring, far more graceful and fast.

It doesn't make sense for rapidash to be one of the bulkier horses because rapidash are incredibly fast, ne? They should be built like a strong muscular horse... a racing horse. IMO anyhow. Also, doesn't the fire come from they're elbow?
You did draw it nicely though, for sure. *Nods* I just think a different horse would have done better.

i don't know much about horses, but i like the bulky ones so... i draw one. Even if a slimmer one defently would fit better.
Hmm... wonder if there could be diffrent rases of pokΓ©mon... like real horses... as they can breed there should be some evolution there... hmm... okay, i better stop before i get some crazy idea... x_X

Nice critter... I'd love to see it running like crazy. It's interesting on a stocky body, but I don't know if that works with it's reputation. Of course, it could always be a little mutant ^^ Nice tonage on the flames.

Funny, Rapidash always reminded me of those old arabians, the ones with the really delicate faces the the masses of hair. They are quite pretty, and go well with the flames and the horn.
This is actually a pretty good horse, the body is a little short, and the nostrils need to be bigger. I know a lot of people like to draw horses with small nostrils, but they are actually quite large. >.<

Oh yeah, and it's hoof, or hooves, for their feet. ^^

I would ahve probably mixed some lighter herbivore body structures in this, it just looks too heavy for a Rapidash. But maybe it's just me
