I've personally avoided using Explosives when I play, just boosting it for quest purposes. A bit hard to avoid friendly fire when you're chucking dynamite around.

Yes it is but I'm conflicted whenever I find them. They can be sold for soooo many caps but they make such a fantastic boom when detonated.

my conflicts were over when I met Caesar. tossed it around the entire tent and hid in one room where I haven't pasted with the stuff. It took me 20 minutes to find his body. By then, I had few hundred thousands in caps, so I didn't really care about my expenses

Explosives is for pussies. 10 strength and 100 unarmed is the way to go.
Specially with 0 intelligence and 10 luck.

But if you have low intelligence you don't get as many skill points per level. I always start off 9 INT and use Intense Training to boost everything else.
