Snowrunner! This was a commission I did for my friend ~torachan
This is her beautiful character Snowrunner. I love his markings, He is gorgeous
My neighbors must think I'm weird, hanging up white sheets in my front yard and laying on the ground trying desperately to take pictures while hauling my pants up so I don't moon the road...and the park across the street... maybe I should just buy a belt lol. random anyway!
Technical Details!
Size: Approx. 7.5"x5"x4.5" tall ([link] )
Super sculpey
acrylic paints
I'd love to tell you how long it took but I didn't keep track. We'll leave it at a long time lol I stressed out for a while when I was painting. I wanted him to look great

none of my charecters are worthy of such a beautiful commission T.T.... I'd love a commission, but i don't think my parents would be willing to pay for it. P.S i love it.
*Fun question*
If i did have a commish done, which charecter of mine would you like to do most?

sweet, you don't have to use a kiln?! 8D I don't have Super Sculpey, though, I have some other stuff so I don't know about putting it in the oven...XD Your sculptures are amazing! I'd love to see more! I really want to be good at sculpting...but then, maybe I should practice...! I have a box of clay that I haven't used since I got it...=\

nope you don't have to use a kiln for super sculpey. Its a polymer clay that sets at 215 degrees and like 15-30 minutes
Bust open that box of clay! The more you play with it the easier it gets

Well done! The detail in both Snowrunner and the ground is great, and I love how you have posed him.
I envy your sculpture skills, although then again I've never tried making one.

Oh wow, this is amazing!! I love seeing sculptures, and this is no exception. You've done a fabulous job with the markings and the fur, and the snowy base makes me happy for some reason. xD
And hanging up white sheets out the front is good.

Amazing as normal :3
I always love your sculputres!
Question though do you use a wire frame armature or just sculpte it as is?
I've done both so far XD
Anyways I also love how you painted him :3 amazing as normal

Plaguedog In reply to NauroK [2007-08-31 17:55:28 +0000 UTC]
thank you!
I usually make a wirefram and cover the bulkier parts in aluminum foil. Especially if it is standing up it makes everything very sturdy

Your welcome!
Thats what I do well more I just stapped foil over it. I used your idea and it worked out better then the others I've made XD.

OOOh I envy your skill! Is super sculpey really simple to work with as they say? smooths over and sticks seamlessly? I want to get some but I cant find any in England, I have to order it from an online company that imports it from the US

Plaguedog In reply to ypput [2007-08-31 15:35:51 +0000 UTC]
It actually took me a while to find too :S but yes it is great! very easy to work with and smooths over well, sticks great, pretty easy to sand down. Its really nice to paint on as well.

ypput In reply to Plaguedog [2007-08-31 17:40:52 +0000 UTC]
oooh you can sand it...never considerd that, thats really useful right Im getting some Do you start with a wire frame then fill it out? If so what wire do you use...I have tried shaping wire but noramlly end up spearing myself sooner or later....

I use a 20 gauge wire thats pretty flexible. I wrap it into tight coils in the placed I want it to be really strong- like the legs. then in bigger areas i cover the wire in aluminum foil. I just bought myself some shaping wire for one i'm working on. I've never tried it before :S hopefully I dont spear myself too much lol
