Description *rubs eyes* ahhh those colors... I want it to be summer T_T Were supposed to get a foot of snow tonight.

This is *WisheWing 's Rowan. Isn't he gorgeous. This is my half of an arttrade

I really like this. I've been pushing myself really hard to speed up the time it takes me to complete a drawing. This one set a record for me I'm trying to move away from the drab colors I'm used to coloring with and Its making me really happy to use more yellows and oranges

Not in particular, I can definitely see where they are coming from with this picture. Especially with the eyebrows, and color scheme.

Years ago, when I began posting my work online, I thought comments like that were suggesting that I was copying someone else work. But now I feel like the comparison is most often meant as a compliment, and even if it isn't, I take it as one!
If what I have drawn has struck someone as being similar to something else that was so successful or well done, then I can't be anything but flattered!

True! Actually, I only viewed those comments as them accusing the character as copyright, too But you really do have a point!~

Say, how did you get so talented at drawing horses? I haven't drawn any since the end of my horse phase (which was around 4th grade for me, I think XD)

Practice! I know, I know, that is what everyone says, but it's true. Every time I draw one, I push myself harder to improve. I really had to recognize that there is always room for improvement.
The best thing for me is to reference tons of photos. I figured out early on that if I references other artists, or model horses, that I was unintentionally learning another artist's anatomy problems. So photos of real horses are definitely better!

Also there are a lot of very nice free tutorials online that can help

And, I'm going to be totally hypocritical since I already said referencing other artists caused me problems, but a book that really helped me figure out horse muscles is George Stubb's "The Anatomy of the Horse."

Was this ref'd on a print called.. um.. Protective (I think)? It's a photo of a mustang stallion in the exact same pose in front of a similar landscape.

I really like how his blace mane and tail stand out against the gold background.

...On another note.... It's Summer here (Australia) but you wouldn't know it... It's been raining solid for like the last three days but on and off for the last... Ehem... Since the start of the season. Which is WEIRD because Summer in Australia is usually UNBEARABLY hot and exhausting.

lol! i loved the geography lesson! We have about three feet of snow right now Its been a reeeally cold weird winter here (in the US- michigan) it keeps melting and then snowing a couple feet like every week :S
