I. Love. Steven Universe. It's a show on Cartoon Network about a lad Steven who's half human half crystal gem. His mother, Rose Quartz, gave up her physical being to give birth to him, and so he has her gem (in his belly button!). Steven lives with three kick ass gems: Pearl, Amethyst and Garnet. Together they gather gem fragments that are remnants of a long ago war between gems on earth, and from gems from the home world who are suspiciously eyeing earth again.

If you haven't seen it you should totally watch it, it's great great voice acting, legit a lot of the cast is female/poc. I think the major theme of the show is family, and I can't wait to see where the show goes.

You can see my process on how I made this piece here: It took me at least 10 hours to ink, and 4 Fast and the Furious movies to color. I haven't spent this long on a piece since college. I love it.
