Doh, that's not what I was trying to suggest. I actually think that piece is dynamic and charming as all hell. I was just alluding to the samurai ideal that they are so well trained physically/metally/spiritually that they thought that they could preform one final act even with their head severed. The samurai were supposed to be thinking as if they were dead at all times to keep them in a frearless amoral state where they would be able to preform any task given to them without doubt or hesitation. It's a good piece man.

The original looks so much different than the scanned. It DOES look like the head is unattached and displaced. Maybe I'll try another scan anyway. Thanks for your imput even if I took it the wrong way...maybe if I knew more history as you appear to I would have caught your reference. Then again, maybe not.
Like I said before, your opinion is always respected and appreciated.

That samurai better be able to commit one final act with his head recently severed.

Damn...on taking another look, you're comment is right on, Priest. Thanks. This guy is out of action for the duration I would say.

Did I mess up the head? Is the position off--is that what you mean? I've been looking at these images for so long that sometimes it is hard to spot mistakes.
I trust your judgement...

He looks very powerful, as he should. The background looks almost like brushstrokes - how did you do that with pencil? -Jessi
