On August 29, 2036, at approximately 12:17 PM, the Thascaene Research Campus in Berhill, Arkansas experienced a complete power failure during a severe thunderstorm passing through the area. Out of the five emergency generators (one for each building on campus), only one activated.
Unbeknownst to the general population, Thascaene Research Campus contained living extra-terrestrial parasitic lifeforms retrieved from a planet just beyond our Solar System during an "off the record" rover mission in 2031.
