Description This started as an attempt to create an alien-looking gas-giant with weird atmospheric conditions.  Then I wanted to add rings.  And moons.  And a nebula

Used this texture  for the red moon in the foreground.

Also used one of the nebula from my Basic Nebula Pack 001

It looks great, but may I criticize the ring system.

According to the clouds on the gasplanet, the rings are not parallel to the equator, I think they must be in a flater ankle,

Rings are bloody hard!  Thinking I may have to just remove them at this point.

Ahhhhhh.  I *knew* something looked wrong, but I couldn't pin it down.  It'll actually be easier to adjust the rings than to rotate the planet, so that's what I'll try to do.  Will do an update sometime this weekend, I hope.

Great catch, and thanks!

Yes I know it´s hard, but it´s worth to practice until it´s perfect,
and I´m sure you´re glad about criticism that helps you to improve^^

I made this tutorial once, idk if that helps you in any way:

Oh, I'm extremely grateful for constructive criticism!  I'm glad that I posted my rings attempt because now I can get feedback on where things are going wrong xD  Thanks for posting your tut, I'll let you know how things go.

So, rings don't always have to be on the equatorial plane of the planet, they just usually are.  Saturn has a second ring system (the Phoebe ring) that is tilted:  www.space.com/29624-gi…  Still, I'm going to have to try modeling planets in Blender eventually, since it would be so much easier to rotate and correct stuff like this.
