Description
Objective: Find out, Can the Voronoi plugin make beautiful, sparkly opals? Results: It sure can!
Apo, Chaotica, little but of Photoshop for background (just some quick layer masking to let the gems really stand out against a color that wasn't totally black).

I'm afraid I don't have a high enough resolution render of it to look good as a print... sorry!

I do have one! Try looking inΒ The-Aposhack Β andΒ Fractal-Resources Β too. Many exist.

I'm glad you like it but I don't have the processing power to render it at a size that would look good printed and not be tiny!

Plangkye, Thank you for your quick reply. I really love this piece you have done, it is the best I've ever seen! Your work is amazing! How long did it take to accomplish this fine work of art?Β I'm new at looking at digital and fractal art and I am very impressed with what you can do with it. I would like to learn it, but am afraid it might be very expensive to get the programs and be very time consuming to accomplish something like this. I hope to see more and thank you so much for your great work!Β Β Β

Good news and bad news. Good news: The programs I use are free (Apophysis 7X and Chaotica - Chaotica has a license you can buy to allow it to render larger sizes but it's still perfectly functional as the free version, and the license isn't expensive) and can run on a fairly ordinary computer, and render most things in under a day or two, which I call pretty reasonable. Bad news: I made this one long enough ago that I don't remember the rendering time or how long it took me to set up the parameters, so I'm afraid I can't answer that question!

There is an Apophysis plugin called Voronoi available from :deveralex21: that I used to make the opal texture. The rest is pretty much a decorated plastic spiral, have a look at the parameters in Apo - take them apart and see what you can figure out, that's why I provide them!

This is really pretty, I always had such long registering times with that plugin that i never got far with testing it.
