With DeviantArt comes the power to negate someone the right to comment on your art/creations/dawdlings, and further more, you can block them from doing any interaction with you at all, Commonly known as a Block. Now, this is all fine and dandy, good for using against trolls. (if you aren't used to them)
But when someone uses it just because they got a bit of negative criticism, thats when its getting obvious that people are using it for their selfish own good: Making so that only good comments that blindly praises the art makes it into the comment field.
This is something that has happened to me multiple times while here on deviantart, and to be frankly, this is something that needs something done about it. It's a way of ignoring critique and just hiding it from plain sight which is destructive, in a way that people refuse to acknowledge their own mistakes and thus not improving in art-style... Maybe sometime in the future will the staff at dA see how misused this feature is, and perhaps that way they can change it so that every block needs a justifiable reason to do so.

Criticism can look ugly, but fuck me does some of the artist out here need it, in order to see that they aren't perfect. And maybe ending the cycle of simpleton comments such as: "Awesome art", "Cool drawing", "Good job!" and "fucking beautiful", without pointing out ANY redeeming factors that it has...

This turns people that draws horribly, into imbeciles that think: "My art is good, and deserves ALL the followers attention, and if anyone says otherwise, then they are mean!". It just isn't right...
