Here's the product of an idea that got formed while talking in the #ExpansionChat
Basically, we got on the subject of Flan, the dessert, then the enemy in Final Fantasy games, and the rest you can probably figure out
Here's Fran, from FFXII, stuffed to the brim with Flan. Who would've known that a hostile dessert tasted so good? After having beat the snot out of so many, she decided she'd actually try and eat the things. As you can see, she likes them... sort of.
I feel sorry for the little guy on her belly... hopefully she'll spare him. Flanbuddy ahoy!
Not much to say about this one. I reeeealy like it, I've wanted to draw Fran for the longest time. Theres a few parts that could have been better had I had more time, but oh well, at least she's squishy! PS out
** Has DA been really slow and doing alot of "Maintenance" for anyone else? I couldn't submit this on time because of it

Am I the only one who notices a potential horrible pun on Fran/Flan, considering the Japanese tendency to swap those two consonant sounds?

I like this image. There's a definite sense of movement in her belly, which I like, and the subtle bulging out of her outfit is a nice touch. The hair's got more movement to it than a lot of your other pieces I've seen, too. It's got "bounce" and "lift," like in a shampoo commercial. The light shading on the side of her stomach and thigh is a nice touch.
Two things that I have to ask, though: Where is she looking, and what is she doing with that finger?
At first glance, she looked a little cross-eyed, but after looking at it some more, it seems like the left pupil isn't at the far edge of the eye, and that the left eye is a bit foreshortened, making the pupil look closer to the center of the face... or something. In any case, she seems to be looking at nothing in particular, and the possible cross-eyed expression only added to my confusion.
As for the finger, it doesn't look like it's in her mouth, more like she's poking her lip. This might be because of the angle that she's pushing her finger towards her mouth- it's more natural to bring your hand up to your mouth to lick your fingers than point your finger down into it...
So yeah, that's my critique. Hope it helps.

She was supposed to be looking at the little flan guy on her belly, and her finger is supposed to be seductively resting on her bottom lip. Those are the two things I wish I could have worked on more, but I ran out of time for this sketch

I had a feeling that she was looking at the flan guy, but her face is pointing outward... bringing the eyelids down a little might help that, but tilting the head a little bit would help more.
And now I get the finger thing; the way that her hand's posed it's more "active" than a seductive pose might be.
And you're welcome. A lot of expansion artists (myself included- especially myself included) could do with a little critiquing now and again.

F-f-f-f-f-ffff.....Fran... *melts* Sweet goodness, this is good. That armor must of been a pain in the ass to work with, but I am really impressed with how you have her spilling out of it, and how her body presses up against the armor. Nice touch, very subtle, but makes it look that much better. The little flan is adorable, very much so.
Seriously, man.... this SADC thing has been a great thing for you. I really can see an improvement with your drawings over the past month. It'll be a shame to see this thing end soon

Now I've gotta think of somethin' else... Like maybe have her eat those mad tomatos things that ran around that rig, in the "Sandsea" area...

yeah...flan as an enemy...i think they were REALLY making a big stretch when they tried to come up with original monsters for that game

true, but i think the slime monsters were originally in Dragon Quest >.>
also, as a side note: i read in some magazine that they made a PS2 controller in the shape of one of those slime monsters from the Dragon Quest series....and that it was actually pretty comfortable to use, too! n.n
