I love that you title this piece "solar eclipse" such a nice play on the concept, the manufactured becomes the organic .
The composition of this piece is so striking, the primary shapes are perfectly balanced, but the secondary shapes are beautifully asymmetric. That second balloon, behind the primary one, is really what makes this piece, especially given that the silhouette is completely separate from the first balloon. This allows it to exist as its own entity, and pulls the piece together through the grace of repeated and implied elements. The lower balloons are also very intriguing, they are only partially visible, but with the already established structure in the subject of the image, we can recognize them. It's this subconscious connection that creates such stunning contrast of emotions.
On the physical sense, we have the downward movement of the gradient of the sky. This is enhanced by the sequence of balloons and the development of complexity in line from the primary basket and the horizon line. But on the ethereal sense we have the rising motion of interest in the image progressing upwards. It tells a story of overcoming and literally rising above complexity into the elegance of simplicity.
A phenomenal piece, all elements work together admirably well. It is eye catching, it has readable depth, and it is wonderful example of the symbiosis of technique and inspiration.
