Description

Alright, I made this roster with both Paint.NET and Adobe Photoshop CS5 for the arcade version as an idea. It shows characters from both Psonic and Touhou universes, including guests from different series and requests from the users around the world. Each character icon has 32x32 resolution and 3 different backgrounds with representations: the blue backgrounds represent Psonic, the red backgrounds represent Touhou, and the white backgrounds represent guests. Remember that the icons with green/yellow edges are kept as secret characters and can be unlocked via Magic Codes.

Just like M.U.G.E.N, each player must choose 2, 3 or 4 characters per tag team.

You can download the PDN file at my Sta.sh account by going to the link below and create your own PXT roster with any guest characters from cartoons, video games, comics, books, manga or anime. It can be done using Paint.NET.

FAQs

Q: What is the content rating for this game?

A: It is being rated T for Teen, C for 15 and older, and 12 for adolescents most likely. Similar to this, some head-to-head fighting games are rated for teenagers.

Q: What will you imagine the graphics being like?

A: I think it will possibly be 2.5-dimensional graphics with 2D-rendered sprites, modern 3D models, realistic environments, and cel-shaded stuff similar to most fighting games (e.g. BlazBlue, Dragon Ball FighterZ and Guilty Gear Xrd), developed by Arc System Works, and even DEATH BATTLE.

Q: Will this game be made in Japan as a single country?

A: Actually no. During the development process, there are few nations other than Japan as a single country in order to have partnerships. Specifically the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, America and Japan.

Q: If this game will not be made in one country, where are the locations of the respective software development companies?

A: Psonic is in General Santos, Philippines, Team Shanghai Alice and Eighting are in Ebina, Kanagawa and Shinagawa, Tokyo, Japan respectively, and Epic Games is in Cary, North Carolina, USA. Psonic will also have divisive offices in Singapore, South Korea and Hong Kong respectively in order to help the game development improved. However, we don't know where Elecbyte is.

Q: What game engine will this game run?

A: Unreal Engine 4 exactly. Psonic will license this game engine to create our attractive projects for cross platform with the partnership of Epic Games. If we learned more about this game engine from Epic Games, then we can independently help create them.

Q: What are the platforms in order to run this game?

A: Psonic Arcade System 1, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC (both retail and Steam), PS Vita, Nintendo 3DS, Android, iOS and Windows Phone.

Q: What do you envision the gameplay of this project to be like?

A: The concept of its gameplay will closely resemble the early Touhou fighting games, M.U.G.E.N, Dragonball FighterZ, Capcom vs. SNK, Marvel vs. Capcom and the mobile version of NetherRealm Studios' fighting games like the Injustice and Mortal Kombat series. In the game, players can select a team of two to four characters to engage in battle and attempt to knock out their opponents before the time extends in tag team mode or make it default in turn-based mode. It also has unique character designs inspired from cartoons, comics and anime, and similar tag team and turn-based game mechanics along with new methods of play designed to make the game more accessible to new players. The special moves are referred to Special Cards (Skill Cards in Japan), the Super Moves are known to be Super Cards (Spell Cards in Japan), which require level 1 power stock, and the Ultimate Attacks are commonly known as Ultra Cards (Last Words in Japan), which require level 3 power stock and are similar to Ultra Combos of Street Fighter IV series as well as finishing moves from NetherRealm Studios' fighting games such as Fatalities and Super Moves. Like Injustice 2, the game has role-playing game elements that can allow you to customize characters with experience you earned and important upgrades in both single-player and multiplayer and looting of Hero Credits as its main currency after each match.

Q: What's the story behind this game?

A: Since the peaceful Outside World of the 21st century has suffered few wars between 2010s and 2020s (like in the events of 20XX series, War on Terror and with the terrorist faction Blackfoot), people were working for the modern times in the presence of one deity and the United Nations, a main world organization. Sometimes, there is something mysterious and dark around the global edges that the whole investigation is not over yet, by the time of an alien expedition, which the extraterrestrial creatures visited from the real world history including the non-myths. However, in some events of 20XX, it was rumored that the Global Peacekeeping League has detected a mysterious being from outer space. Before their report, it will begin to rise up the whole re-visitation but taking a slow moment for a long time to come sooner or with something futuristic. Of course, after that, many people are experiencing a serious case somewhere on earth by watching several news reports in other locations, most probably in Tycoon City as the game's primary target with a special military term RECOM. While the case is going on, Engr. Joe Dell of Recom Hero Squad has a plan for the help of other engineers to build a time portal, with a dimension between reality and fantasy. If it was created, there is something strange that the citizens of Tycoon City are currently living in the Outside World now. Besides, the only targeted fantasy is in Gensokyo, a remote place where been set in incidental times of Gregorian calendar once in a while. As the future moves on, it finally comes to introduce itself a powerful alien superweapon named Overlimits, derived from its alien homeworld Xenoria. It begins with a disgrace to humanity to take a control of Xenorians and make the Outside World dominated for a new extraterrestrial life, most especially other aliens. So people need help and Engineer Joe has another plan to his fellow members of R.H.S that the inspirational military mission has started immediately. Then they summon people from several locations (particularly a destination from Gensokyo to the modern Outside World following the inspiration of Urban Legend in Limbo), give them a special chance and prepare a surrounded fighting tournament with a lot of battles in order to be prepared stronger before the forceful resistance against Overlimits, also those who came from both the future and the past.

Q: Who is the final boss of PXT?

A: Overlimits, an alien super weapon so horrifying and apocalyptic that can likely obliterate the Outside World for a new alien life. From the way I imagine it, Overlimits is also a hybrid of the enemies from Space Invaders, and appears only in both Arcade and Overlimits modes. After challenging the 7 turn-based or tag team battles in arcade mode, Overlimits always enters the final battle by breaking out the wall on the entire screen whether it is a result screen, where it says "WARNING!! THE OUTSIDE WORLD IS IN DANGER!" or character select screen, making it a fourth wall breaker. Before the match with the player's team, Overlimits starts the boss battle with its first form that can be thrown, but its next 2 forms don't function. After finishing the first phase, it transforms larger and can be bested once more by using non-throw attacks instead. For the final phase, it grows into a giant size and appears below the horizontal sides of the stage watching the battle from a distance. Once the final phase is done, the player successfully wins over Overlimits when defeated and the game ends with their specific reactionary quotes. In total, there are 3 forms to finish the battle.

Q: Are there ending cutscenes in PXT?

A: Yes. I may consider making them like comic-based endings, inspired from the ones in Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Q: Will there be cameos of non-playable characters?

A: Yep. There will be lots of them, shown in either in-game stages, ending cutscenes of the respective characters, or keeping themselves as assist characters.

Q: Will there be intro banter?

A: Of course.

Q: Will there be DLC characters?

A: Absolutely. They will be on separate images for home versions. In the Complete Edition of this game, all DLC characters will be kept default for all platforms.

Q: Is Dun Frylark a muscular guy?

A: From his helmet around the icon, yes. He will rival Yuugi Hoshiguma as both have muscular strengths.

Q: Can you explain the guest characters here?

A: From the way I see the roster in Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken 7, I decided to put Sonic Blast Man, Don & Katsu Wada from Taiko no Tatsujin, and other characters included with the permissions from users who requested me.

Q: Regarding the roster, why is the Psonic side on the left side as opposed to the right?

A: Don't know yet. It's just the way it was thought out.

Q: Will there be cosplay outfits for all characters instead?

A: Absolutely yes. They will be downloadable contents for each character.

Q: Will there be second-tier outfits for all characters.

A: Yes.

Q: Are the character designs of the entire Touhou cast anime?

A: Yes, Touhou Project is a part of the Japanese culture created by Jun'ya Ota, also referred to his pen name called ZUN.

Q: Will there be a Japanese dub for all characters?

A: No. I want this game to become better than Marvel VS Capcom: Infinite, which has either mixed or average reviews from critics. So I consider this an example of how Capcom officially rejected the Japanese voice cast for all Marvel characters if they don't mesh well unlike Capcom characters, and the original voice-over is enough to save money. Following the announcement of Marvel VS Capcom: Infinite, the way is still the same for all characters in the game without the Japanese dub for Capcom characters. Even the anime-based games don't have the official English dubs unlike their anime counterparts, excluding the Dragon Ball and Naruto series.

Q: Are there any Psonic characters with cartoon/anime appearances.

A: Yes, only those from Gyro Fighters, Stander Park, Axl Jet and anything kid-friendly.

Q: Are there live-action actors who portrayed the respective character designs based on people and inspirations?

A: In development, yes. As seen on comic books, movies and photographs, only some of Psonic characters can portray themselves based on real-life actors and people to look their designs beautiful, comical, realistic and better with rotoscoped animations, including the mixed images of each person, animals and concept artworks. For a good example, Josh is to be portrayed by both Ben Affleck and Brendan Fraser.

Q: Will there be motion capturing of animations for each character aside from hand-drawn animations for cartoon-esque characters?

A: Yes, only some of them have just like in the film industries.

Q: Are there any scripts for this project?

A: Absolutely yes. They are on separate journals/blogs I posted.

Okay. Here is what I think of all of those choices.

Amy Rose: Eh, it could fit.

Tails: I don't think he could.

Knuckles: Yeah, he could fit.

Gohan: Nah, too high tier for this fighting game.

Frieza: Same goes for him.

Cooler: Who?

Cell: Maybe... he is a meme and all, so I might see him getting in.

Fluttershy: No.

Some goes for the other MLP characters.

Maybe I could see RD working, but this game doesn't need any more.

So basically, knuckles would be the best option.
