You ready for a completely pulled out of my ass explanation here?

Somewhat obvious nod to Fallout 4, where the player character can sell their wedding ring for caps.  Cadance has been wounded, and looks to be in minor shock, she looks down at the ring and sees it has infinite weight and value implying the Shining Armor is now dead and this is one of the few things she has left of him.  Perhaps it even went through her mind to try and sell the ring in order to get supplies, especially in the last panel, where the ring has lost all the value and weight that she once perceived it to have.

Or it could be based off one of the trillions of FOE fics floating around out there right now.
