1. Somebody didn't read the manga of Bleach
2. the anime is riddled with continuity errors, filler arcs, filler bleeding into the canon, paradox time frames and a forced love triangle that is not in the manga
3. If you think Bleach is "Atrociously written" you have NOT read much manga dude. (Naruto, Fairy Tail, Black Clover, Boruto, Toriko, etc come to mind) >_>

Technically not a filler character when you think about it. But those arcs were an expection to "filler arcs are bad". They provided some nice additional detail and insight that the manga doesn't.

Technically, going by recent developments in the manga, Zabimaru's design and the rest of the captains and lieutenant's zanpakuto spirit form are canon, it's just the overall zanpakuto arc story that is filler. Just saying.
