-Species Description-
One of the 4 sentient species on Piscciss, Volanns are a semi-amphibious race that evolved to traverse all levels of the global oceans, withstanding depth's up to approx 10000m deep and using a complex system of pressurization glands can get acclimatized to surface depths quickly. They use their arms to manipulate their environment and crawl around on land for brief periods of time. Their hunting strategy is to bury themselves in sediment and then wait for their prey to get lured by their bioluminescent angular. when their selected prey gets close they jump out, simultaneously clamping their powerful jaws down and reaching out with their arms to ensure the prey does not escape.

-Abilities-
Biting- Volanns can shut their mouths at incredible speeds. Powerful muscles provide around 3000 pounds of bite force, more than twice enough to shatter human bones.
Gills- Underwater is the best environment for Volanns to exist, their external gills can absorb oxygen in the water even if body of water is a oxygen dead zone.
Pressure resistant- Volanns can reach depths to approx. 10000m deep and using a complex system of pressurization glands can get acclimatized to surface depths quickly.
Bioluminescence- Using the bulb on their heads, Volanns can traverse pitch black darkness.
Peak Physiology- The physical body is the equivalent of a peek human, and can preform feats at that level. Except running. However their swimming far exceeds human capabilities, being able to swim longer and faster than any normal human.

-Weaknesses-
Gills-If exposed to air for too long the gills will dry up and Ben could potentially suffocate.
Lack of Legs- Volanns has to usually crawl around using their powerful arms but this can be rather slow due to their rather large tails.

-Personality Alterations-
Volanns are highly sociable people, however they can be very Aggressive to those not their kind. Ben appears more ferocious and monstrous when he transforms into Ripjaws, often screeching at others if they get to close.

-Trivia-

-Volanns often trades technology with the other sapient species of their planet in exchange for food and rare underwater minerals that exists deep in underwater caves. This is because Volanns cannot make metal tools with fire unless they find a underwater volcano but that is just a bad idea unless someone wants to be flambéed
