Description
I'm beginning to think I'm an idiot for this. Whilst writing this I'm thinking it's as easy as making beans on toast.Anyway, this is more like a walkthrough than tutorial. Just like an insight to MY method. Meaning this is how I do it. All pixel artists work differently, so just bear that in mind.
All you need is practice and willingness to try anything and everything. I've been pixelling since Dobedo (We miss you!
Enjoy, I hope atleast someone learns something.

The THIRD step? The hardest in my opinion is the hair, because it'll either look to bright or too dull and I'll end up digging my own grave over it.
So hey, where've you been good sir?

Goddamn Az, wonderful tutorial!
Just fabulous. The amount of detail you went to show the steps is just astounding, takes just as much patience putting that together as it does making the piece.
You should be proud of yourself, fantastically done

ohhhh boy...if i dare try this i will probably go beserk and beat my computer down to nothing but scrap, lol
but I wanna try it! I just need some patience and hopefully the right inspiration and just plain skill to do it, hehe
well...practive makes perfect, ne?
btw, awesome tutorial pluggy haha, you can more than bet that I learned one or two things from this, if not...everything! hahaha
btw...right before the completely finished piece..you can see that the outlines in the clothing can be differentiated and are well separate from each other, but in the finished one they are blended together...so i ask...did you use the blur effect? or something else? thnks ^^
Now im inspired to go try and fail miserably on some pixel art! w00t! lol

Really? Because I don't even need to be working on anything to go beserk on my computer.
I'm happy you tried it, I did look at it but my message count is just getting out of hand, so I'll comment after I crush all the comments down to pulp.
It does take patience and practice, yep =]
I wrote in the last step that I inserted more colours inbetween the ones already there (So it went from 4 to 8.. I think.) Just screenshoot it and zoom in to see if you don't get what I mean.. No blur effect, I'd laugh so hard if mspaint was capable of that.
Glad you learnt something and you want to try it hun, thanks loads and loads

So cool! A pixel walkthourgh!!!! Thank you!!!
You know it's not obvious the kind of tools you have to use (at least for me). I wanna do pixel piccies XD

pluggedinbaby In reply to MayYeo [2004-09-03 09:43:23 +0000 UTC]
Well in MSPaint it's straight forward - line tool, pencil tool and paint bucket... if you're working in photoshop or something it's the same except you'll have to untick the 'antialiasing' for the lines. =]
Thanks May, and you're very welcome.

Really? That's shocking. When something's written at 3am and you're attempting to write all you can think is "What does that say?"
Thanks my luff

XD but looking at your tutorial i'm now inspired to make wonders out of MS Paint too. XD I"m not good with colors and I'm not very patient, but it looks like that's something you need to do pixel art like that! <--knows she will just stop outta boredom. XD Well, I Love this!
