I recently watched Beastars and felt an urge to draw some of the characters. Here's a quick drawing of Louis I worked on as a warm-up while working on my commission for Twitterlu~
I looooved the 1st season and can't wait for season 2. I'll read the books when the anime is over since I discovered the anime first. I wouldn't want to spoil myself and ruin the experience of seeing the characters and story animated. The fans will recognize Louis (Rui) the red deer here~ I love/hate this character! I made the antlers a little to far apart I'm sorry.
Big thanks to those over Instagram who helped me decide what background to make and colors to use.

Yup, that's why I'm reluctant to reading the manga so far. Well, in the one hand I don't wanna spoil myself since I started by watching the anime, and on the other hand the visuals in the manga look somewhat rushed and too sketchy for me... Not that I like the visuals in the anime much more though, bc the art style creeps me out, but it still looks better than in the manga imo~

The manga's imagery improves somewhat as it goes on, but if it does sorta put you off then there's no harm in sticking with the anime (not entirely sure where thats up to though, as I've only read the manga and that was a lot of reading to catch up on).
The creepy, rough art style kinda works with the content, especially as things move on in the story but it took me about 3 months to get past the first chapter because of how it looked.. ...then I got hooked on the story.

Il est très beau! 
En ce qui me concerne.... je lis le manga depuis qu'il est sorti et j'ai essayé de regarder l'animé sur Netflix mais le ton qui y est employé ne me plaît pas tellement. Il paraît beaucoup plus sérieux et austère que le manga qui a quelques petites touches d'humour. Il y a certes une ambiance sérieuse et assez adulte dans le manga mais l'animé me déprime vraiment, je le trouve vraiment trop sérieux. C'est la première fois que je suis en quelque sorte déçue d'un animé dont j'ai lu la version papier :/

Ah ouais? Bah j'ai pas lu le manga (encore, mais je le ferai) mais je suis d'accord avec toi sur l'atmosphère austère et la manque d'humour. Je m'étais justement faite la réflexion selon laquelle ça manquait de légèreté. Je peux comprendre ton sentiment du coup...

Oui c'est le problème avec Internet :// moi aussi ça m'arrive de me faire spoiler les films que je ne suis pas encore allée voir si je ne fais pas attention.
