I became ill 5 years ago and have had heart surgery and a pacemaker implant 2 years ago, I'm in a wheelchair and I'm just not well. I am ringing around the Riding for the Disabled groups to get back into it slowly and carefully

That's wonderful! I used to volunteer with a therapeutic riding center for about 5 years until they lost their lease and had to close their facility down. So I know how awesome it is to ride a horse regardless of whatever physical and mental disabilities a person has, and how much riding a horse can help a person. You'll get the hang of it. It just takes a matter of trust between horse and rider and sidewalkers (if you'll use them). Pretty much most of the photos I have on my account of horses are of the therapy horses there. I swear, therapy horses are the smartest i've ever seen.

I agree! It is quite funny, once I first got ill, I gave up pony club and lessons, but I didn't want to give them up altogether, so I actually volunteered there myself, but after one week, was too ill myself to even do that haha! Now it's quite ironic, I'm going back as a rider haha. I just got the call I have a place, so I begin (for the first time in three years) Tuesday after the next
