If you like Tool too, then It's yet another weird coincidence about things that we have in common, and it's starting to get a bit scary. When I was in military basic training, I got into a hospital for a week. I had no other entertainment than my cellphone with headphones. The radio didn't have any signal, but I had about 3 albums worth of Tool on my memory card so I listened to that the whole week.

I don't listen to Tool very often, but THIS one is... MASSIVE! I mean, f*ing great xD
MILITARY BASIC TRAINING??????

Tool has the best drummer in the world. And even though the songs' tempo changes are very weird, they all make sense. The only thing that I can't make sense of is how Danny can keep track of 2 completely different beats at the same time.
Yes, military. Every guy in my country needs to go through it. I was in signal company (communication stuff) so there were girls too. The basic training takes either 180, 270 or 362 days depending on your training branch. Fortunately I only had to endure the 180 days.

I don't remember how I did it. All i remember is how to draw a fibonacci spiral.

Saddness.
And how did u do that?

A fibonacci spiral is a spiral where the line is a combination of circle quarters. The circles have the diameters (starting from the center) 2, 2, 4, 6, 10, 16, 26, 42, 68, 110, 178. Each one is double the value of the number in the fibonacci sequence, which is 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21...
[link] On the right side of this wikipedia article you can see a construct of squares. Drawing a line starting from the corner of the smallest square and going larger will get you the same result if you do it the way the 3rd picture suggests..

That is one incredible job....Paint doesn't yield it's secrets easily.

It's just simple logic really. Mathematical calculations.
...and I wish I could still remember how I did it.

HeHeHe...I was thinking of the way Paint makes everything into 'no left turn, take 3 rights instead'.I can only imagine the wrestling match is must have been, getting Paint to cooperate to that degree...equations or no.

No it wasn't a wrestling match. You think of how to achieve 1 from something else, plan your every step ahead and do them precisely. It doesn't take that much skill. It takes knowledge and logic.

Ahh,this highlights a difference in approach.I think out pictures in Paint ahead of time, but not in fine-grained detail.I usually just settle on a technique,in fact, and let the picture grow 'till an idea attaches to it.Paint does, however, have it's quirks.Partly irritating, partly endearing.

Extraordinary work. Must have taken a while to create the design.

Oh, I guess it wasn't that long. Did you just do a quarter and then copy/paste?

I made 1 fibonacci spiral, copied it and shrinked it and put it on top of the original spiral many times, then copied the whole mess some more and made a symmetric pattern out of it. Hard to explain. Then I used the stretching and sweking gimmicks to create a cube.
You can make a fibonacci spiral like this: start from the center, start making the spiral a quarter-rotation at a time, one part should look like a 90 degree cutout of a circle. The radii for the quarters are 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13... etc.

Confusing stuff. O_O
I guess it would make sense once you start doing it.

I love the shading, and amount of detail in the swils! Great job.

I just made 1 spiral and scaled and copied it over and over. It's not that hard. The hardest part was to make the spiral itself. The radii of the 90 degree rotations had to be perfect.
