Yea, they went to black plastic grips as a cost saving method around 1941. The receiver on this gun is a little plum which is common for the time as Mauser hadn`t got the salt blue 100 percent down yet. There is also a good amount of wear on the front and back strap so the color is a lightly lighter there.
