Description     So first of my surprises for the three year anniversary. On top of the main special for the anniversary which will be released every Friday, the normal comics will come out every Monday of this month as well! So without a further ado, Solarshadow continues. This does address a question I asked a long time ago and gives a possible answer for it, that being why they don't attack the trainers themselves. Not to much else to say about this one, think it speaks for itself really. Hope you enjoy and much more to come this anniversary!!!

I really feel bad for Solar here. Man a direct hit like hat must have been like at least a 70 percent hit.

He certainly took a pretty bad hit from this yeah.

It's really amazing how whimpering (most likely the word I am looking for but not sure) Solar can look if he is feared enough. Not gonna lie, I feel this situation is more then needed for him to learn a lesson. It's great for the reader to be reminded that Solar despite being mostly successfull with his attitude in the comic gets hit (or blasted in this case) back to earth for it. However, man that Fire Blast (we actually call it firestorm in germany, and here we see how fitting that is) looked brutal. It looks like it would even heavily damage Shadow. I know it's Mega Houndoom, which is around the power level of John Cena, but still.

I hope you don't mind the comment on this since it's a little bit older.

Would you mind asking me a question? I try to figure out why Nymphia can't stop Green but don't see it. The only thing I can come up with is that it is against her nature to attack people or at least trainers. Could you give me a short answer please?

PM-James In reply to dragonofireandwater [2018-02-28 19:43:37 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, Solar is intended to be immensely powerful but he's also supposed to put a lot of his strength into psychic, he mastered the technique, he abuses it every chance he gets, he pushes it to the limits of what it can do, etc. So when Psychic doesn't work, he doesn't have as much to fall back on. He is still a capable fighter without it but there's a noticeable difference in both his abilities as well as his confidence when it doesn't work.
Generally with attacks, once an attack has exceeded 90 power, I will often times beef it up, making the attack look the part so to speak. Stuff like in the Mewtwo fight,  Gyarados' Hyper beam was an enormous beam that engulfed Mewtwo, stuff like that. Sometimes the power of the individual is incorporated to, like Nymphia's Shadow ball was a lot larger than Shadows was. Stuff like that.

No it's cool, it's apart of the story too.

Basically trainers teach their Pokemon not to attack people and Nymphia still holds Marina in high regard. More or less, she hesitated because she wasn't sure if it was ok for her to do that or not.

Don't think that work, animal control and such have never had a problem finding animals that attack people, and in pokemon they're more technologically advanced. So it probably be even easier to find them.

Though Mewtwo sort of did that.

True but in this universe pokemon can be as smart as humans (in this scenario smarter). A pokemon with a fire type move could easily incinerate a human to ash, hell if they know a move like hyperbeam it could work as well

PM-James In reply to darkvslight346 [2016-08-30 01:01:37 +0000 UTC]

I doubt that they could do that without leaving more than enough evidence to narrow the search to them. An attack would have to leave an energy signature and something like Espeon's shadow ball would leave a larger amount than Umbreon's since Espeon's is stronger.

darkvslight346 In reply to PM-James [2016-09-01 03:13:57 +0000 UTC]

true but think of this if a pokemon is burned by a flame it's kind of hard to pin point which pokemon did it, for example in an area full of fire pokemon it would be hard to figure out which one attacked the human

PM-James In reply to darkvslight346 [2016-09-01 19:17:47 +0000 UTC]

Well you could solve that pretty easily with a powerful psychic like Alakazam. Have it use Aura reading, which is a psychic power that allows the psychic to detect energy fields around people, creatures, places, things, etc. If any of them match the energy of the attack, then you got your suspects right there. Alakazam could also read the minds of suspects and witnesses to find out if they did it, if they're lying, if they're telling the truth, if they're hiding something, etc. I'd imagine a professional bounty hunter would have Pokemon like that, who specialize in those sort of things as well.

i;m kind of curios has alakazam ever shown that kind of power in any medium? I haven't seen it in the anime so I'm guessing the manga?

PM-James In reply to darkvslight346 [2016-09-03 03:13:05 +0000 UTC]

Well in Pearl, the Pokedex says "Its highly developed brain is on par with a supercomputer. It can use all forms of psychic abilities." So it would have to have access to Aura reading then, since that is a form of psychic power. Alakazam has also been described as the master of psychic abilities. So there's nothing that suggests that it can't do that.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

darkvslight346 In reply to PM-James [2016-09-05 02:50:33 +0000 UTC]

but let's be honest the pokedex doesn't always make sense, for example accoriding to the dex cofarigus and yamnask are basically dead people, yet you can breed hundreds of them with no ill effect to any npcs in game

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PM-James In reply to darkvslight346 [2016-09-05 03:28:30 +0000 UTC]

Well the Pokedex says nothing about trainer bred ones, so that could be answered with saying that represents wild ones and ones bred by a trainer are just children of the Cofagrigus, thus are not applicable to that. Something like that. The Pokedex does make some ludicrous claims and should be taken with a grain of salt. However something like Alakazam being able to use all forms of psychic powers, seems pretty much undeniable to me.

...But it's okay for me to attack you. Because humans run things.

This is exactly the problem I see with Pokemon. It was also one of the main things I wanted to bring out in the story I've been writing.

True but that's a pretty common way of thinking in society in general really.

Huh...

So captured now or have a possibility of capture later...

HARD DECISION!

PM-James In reply to Fire-Mutt [2016-08-29 13:15:52 +0000 UTC]

don't want to say to much about it, but there's more to it than just getting captured later.

Either way, Green is being a jerk

PM-James In reply to Fire-Mutt [2016-08-30 01:04:58 +0000 UTC]

Yeah he is, but it is something Shadow seems afraid of that. So probably will work.

Fire-Mutt In reply to PM-James [2016-08-30 01:08:38 +0000 UTC]

Still, somehow I think he will regret if he forces them to be his pokemon. Clearly just being caught doesn't cause a pokemon to love someone, so they'd just be able to bug him 24/7 XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PM-James In reply to Fire-Mutt [2016-08-30 01:23:35 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, he originally wanted to capture them because they're powerful but now it's become more a, "the one that got away" type desire to catch them. More or less a Wiley Coyote Roadrunner sort of relation. He had a reason to catch them originally but it's kind of faded into a flat out obsession now.

Yeah, in this being captured doesn't do anything for that. You also need to form a bond with them too.

Fire-Mutt In reply to PM-James [2016-08-30 01:25:56 +0000 UTC]

So if he DOES catch them...

Oh boy. Knowing them Green will be BEGGING to release them XD

Maybe Jade would take them.

I'll be honest, I'm seeing Jade as a sorta more rational one. They might tolerate her. Still, I prefer wild solarshadow kinda XD
