Just wonderin how do you do these 3D renders? Do you make the grass, fairies, objects, the people or are they free else where and you put together into a scene, as a painter would paint a scene?

I can most accurately describe that process as 'virtual photostudio'   composing several objects and characters into one scene, making them interacting with each other or just filling the scene. Next step is setting up lighting and properties of materials in order to get desired result. Most of objects are ready-to-use 3D models (commercial and free), but I make sometimes some objects from scratch to get some uniqueness to scene.

I'm still in doubt which lighting was optimal... HDR IBL (what was used actually) with resulting soft (yellow-green) color tones or simulated sunlight with more expressed shadows and shiny spots, similar to fav.me/d77502k
