Blender 2.69: modeling of railways (made up from separate parts, from sleepers to rails and nuts)
Poser 9: partial scene composing (characters and clothes)
Octane Render 1.55: final scene composing, materials setup, rendering (pmc with maxdepth=8 at 8000 spp)
Paint.NET 3.5.10: minimal postwork on some pixels

I like both of these poses, but the overall scene does not evoke a feeling as much as your night time one. I can imaging the woman in the blue dress sitting on a window seat (maybe with the shoes off) and looking outside at a cityscape. Just an idea...

I like the draping of the clothes.
The sense of scale is slightly strange, though. The characters look a little small compared to the railway tracks if we assume the tracks are Standard Gauge (which means they're just under 1.5m apart).

Hmm...Β may be that point of view give such results... tracks was modeled accurate to millimeters and characters are standard V4.2 heightΒ
