Did you fool someone such a way?

LMAO! Oh goodness, I could see myself doing this to someone. Love their expressions and the whole setting. Great work.

What we can expect in the (near?) future... when androids (not meant today's mobile OS ) will pretend to be our friends ?!

Yes exactly they will pretend till they take over the planet!!

Clearly, it's a software bug. Or possibly a hacker attack. Yes, certainly it was a hacker!

Even the cloud-based processing of raw sensor values in Tier4 certified data center does not helped

Now she must be worried that her privacy is compromised. The hackers got their dirty hands on sensitive data of her weight, body fat, lean mass, muscle mass, water ratio, and whatever those modern scales can measure (or pretend to be able to measure).

On the other hand, next day the too smart fridge will refuse to give access to its contents, including (but not limited to) high-calorie tasty cake ... even without those creepy hackers

Ha-ha, I am looking forward for hackers altering logic of those smart houses of the nearest future... A great way to annoy some unfriendly neighbors... or just a random people overseas...
I love a true story with a too smart car - some BMW prototype during its demonstration somewhere in South-East Asia locked the Singapore Minister of Trade and Industy inside and refused to let him out. They had to break a window - fortunately, the Minister was skinny enough to fit through. It was a software bug (no hackers involved), and the car believed (for some reason) that it was moving so that the doors should be blocked. I wish it was a typical automotive show girl in barely visible bikini rather than the Minister, but then this incident would not become known. On the other hand, I don't understand the idea (more common to more expensive cars) to let the software and the servomotor-driven locks to block the doors so that there is no way to open them if it fails.

The obvious reason is: how these imperfect devices can detect that "it fails" ?
BTW, the similar problem already exist (for a long time) in aircraft automatics... should it be totally fool-proof or has some options for manual control.

I know this problem in aviation. American guys love to blame Airbus for its too smart fly-by-wire system which has some known (and some less known) "features". There were several cases when the "unusual" or "unexpected" behavior of this system was a significant factor that contributed to the grim ending However, in virtually all those cases the real problem was the inadequate training of the pilots. There was at least one case when the system really malfunctioned but the pilot switched it to manual mode (it is possible!) and was able to make a safe landing. And there were cases when the pilots struggled in vain with this system and eventually crashed, but as it was proved subsequently if they would simply don't touch the controls at all the system would return the plane to normal horizontal flight.
