Hi all!This was the first piece I ever colored - it was for the Aspen Coloring contest earlier this year (incidentally, it won first place).

yep - Dawn of War was the new mini-series drawn by Turner's protege, Talent Caldwell (it just wrapped up last week, I think)

Oh shit, so you're the guy who colored the cover of that comic strip I got in my bedroom. Very good job on that art, I would have said that it's a really good pic, but you're not the author of the lineart. Anyway, color is as important as lineart. Very good, I'm really impressed.

Really, thank you for the kind words - I didn't expect feedback to be this positive, but it has been an extremely pleasant surprise and definitely is pushing me toward pumping out more pieces...thanks!

Critique about this piece, I don't have. It's just a wonderful piece, I wish I could paint this way, I am good at realism but very hard for me to get the comic book paint look. Anyway, I'll stop babling and let you go.

Thanks for getting my back - but don't worry about it, there's alot of people out there with the same mentality - but I think colorists (or color artists) are beginning to show more and more distinct-ness in style and technique, and hopefully will start changing people's perceptions to start accepting us as artists in our own right...ok, I can go on about this for a while so I'll stop...thanks though!
P.S. Shoot me an email/note, and we can talk about doing some stuff together (I must warn you though, my life is pretty packed right now, so I can't guarantee when I'll have the time - but at least we can get the ball rolling)

That's cool.. I prefer the colouring on this one to the v2 but that's a personal opinion as opposed to having any real artistic stand-point.. I've never heard of "Fathom: Dawn of War" but the characters look cool.. and the guy in the back looks a hell of a lot like Logan!
