She woke up the next morning in Tom's arms; she took a good look at him. He looked so peaceful with his eyes closed and his natural smile he made so little. She had never really thought of Tom that way before. She had never even looked at him as a guy. Tom was her best friend and nothing else. She manoeuvred out of his hold as carefully as she could to prepare a nice little breakfast. She slowly walked out his room without him noticing and walked down the corridor to the kitchen. The teenager prepared toast with Nutella™ and hot chocolate for both. Rummaging throw the cupboards for a tray she noticed that Arthur and William were sitting outside. She was still coping with her brother's relationship but she knew she would slowly accept it. She walked to the patio door and poked her head out the door.
"Hi Arthur … Hi William" The two guys looked up and smiled. William got up and started to walk over to her for the usual morning hug but stopped half way. Arthur looked pleadingly at her. She could see that it meant so much to both of them that she accepted them. She walked hesitantly toward her brother and gave him an awkward hug. She stepped back from the embrace and watched the two sit together. They really were right for each other. She smiled and stepped back inside. Finding a platter she brought the food to Tom's room. When she opened the door she saw her best friend sitting up on his bed. He had apparently just woke up.
"Hi!" She walked up to him and handed him a mug.
He smiled up. "Hi sweet pea … what's this for?" he asked talking the mug and taking a sip.
"Nothing much … You're just so nice to me. Arthur and William… You knew didn't you?" She asked keeping her voice calm.
He looked sad and spoke the same word over and over; sorry. She sat the serving plate down and went to cuddle up beside him. "Tom its fine … I mean you had to keep it a secret." They laid back down and talked about everything and anything for hours. She couldn't stop thinking of how easy it was to talk to Tom. She could say anything and it wouldn't matter what it was he would smile and looked at her like everything would be alright. "Tom I don't get why you don't have a girl friend… You're awesome!"
"Maybe it's because I can't get any better than you …" He kissed her on the nose and rolled of the bed. "Come on! We already missed first and second period at school. Your brother brought you an outfit."
"Can't we stay here all day?!" she asked like a six year old.
"No! If you want to seduce that guy you have to at least be at school!"
She smiled at the thought of her handsome crush. She got up and walked toward the bathroom picking up her clothes on the way. As she got dressed she said to herself that it had to be Tom who had picked what she was going to wear because he was the only one to know that her white shorts and her pink jumper was her favourite outfit. She pulled her head up into a ponytail and walked to the car.
That day was going to be beautiful!
