"do you think it's ever going to change? I mean us... the youtube thing...?"

I've been laying my head on Alex's lap for a couple of hours while he watches Harry Potter. I've never really shown it but a lot of the time I'm thinking of how it's going to all end. I mean I love my life and everything in it but I just can't see it being like this for ever. Some day we'll have to grow up and we'll get jobs, they'll be awesome jobs like working for youtube in other ways or something, but we can't stay youtubers our whole lives.
Even Alex and me it has to finish at some point. He'll get a wife and children that will have to look after his crazy self and we'll slowly drift apart. I don't really know what my life would be without him. He's been in my life for quite a while and I'm not sure I ever want to let that go. Actually I'm sure I don't want to let him go because he's everything I love.

Alex pauses the movie and moves his hand from his side so it's patting my hair.

"I think as long as we're together it's going to be fine... I think if we stay true to who and what we love and it's what we have now than nothing can change that..."

"Hrm... staying true...ey?" I mumble to myself.

I know I should tell him I love him but it's the same every time we get to the perfect moment to tell him. I say something stupid instead of actually telling him.

"So do you have everything you love?"

"Of course... well with some minor glitches but you know... in all I have the person I love most and I have the perfect job and the best of friends!" He smiles up at me.

"You love someone...? How can we be best friends and you never told me?! Plus, what do you mean by glitches?"

Alex smiles at me with a sad tint in his eyes like I'm a five year old asking about why the sky is blue. Like I have the perfect question but he doesn't have the right answer.

"What? Why are you looking at me like that? It's not like I've dated the girl you like right? Or please don't tell me it's my sister cause that would just be really weird and I would totally kick your butt!"

He starts laughing.

"NO I REALLY DON'T LIKE YOUR SISTER THAT WAY!!! ahahah I'm looking at you that way because I know you'll hate my answer."

"Alex I've never hated anything you've said ever why would I start now?!"

He smiles a bit and he wraps his arms around my waist pulling me up so I'm sitting in his lap looking right at him. He cups my face with one of his hands and whispers.

"Because Berg the glitch is that your my best friend and not my boyfriend. I have you as the person I love but you only have me as one of your friends. I love you Charlie with all I got!"

I lean forward and press my forehead against his.

"Then we both have the same problem cause Alex I love you too..."

I lean closer so our lips are almost touching and I melt inside looking into his beautiful eyes.

I really do love Alex Day...
