Description
Here's another re-imagining of a species assimilated by the zerg, pre-assimilation. This time, I tried my hand at the Zz'gashi dune runner, the species that the zerg evolved into zerglings.

I did not have any luck finding other artists interpretations of this species, and it was very difficult to find consistent concept art for the zergling pre-SC2. I went for perhaps an overly "raptor-like" representation, especially in the head shape. In fact, the head shape is probably the one part I'd spend the most time changing if/when I were to redo this drawing.

The "arms" protruding from its back look like the vestigial remnants of wings of some kind, perhaps now just used for display or territorial sparring. This gene could have been re-activated by the zerg to make the "speedling" later on.

I definitely think I am going to give this particular species another shot later, since I am not 100% satisfied with the result.
