Color pencil on sketchbook paper/ boring-ass realism.

If I ever had a pet turtle, I'd name it Tortimer and give it a monocle.

I really enjoy the colors on this. I have a hard time making alot of animals smile without them looking like they are planning the death of those whom they are staring at.

Turtles, birds, and dogs always seem to have a permanent smile. My art teacher makes us refrain from drawing too many grinning images, because she says it's cheesy.

Yeah. I kinda wish the only art teacher I had in high school was actually a teacher. I ended up being her T.A. instead of learning anything & she only "knew" how to sculpt & hadn't the faintest idea how to draw. I could draw anything I wanted & there were no boundaries as long as she liked it. Maybe I was lucky, but I didn't learn a @#*@? thing.

In middle school, I had a teacher who was incredibly nice and fun, but yeah, he didn't teach me anything. My teacher for sophmore year hated me, and his only passion was clay whistles. My current art teacher knows exactly what to tell us, but she's a total bitch. Sculpting is a wonderful art form, but I never took a class for it.

Right now, I'm a T.A., which pretty much acts as a study hall for my AP class. Three hours of acrylic painting everyday grinds on your nerves.

Three hours of acrylic! "back in my day"(chuckle)I spent most of my time hiding the art I was working on & pretending I was doing social studies or whatnot. Of course, it used to take me at least 6-8 months to finish a piece & then I would take a six month holiday.

Haha, I doodle in classes all the time, and no one ever bothers me. I've had friends who say strangers freak out when they see their works in progress, but people generally leave me alone. I've never really used acrylics until recently, and it takes a lot longer than my color pencil drawings, haha. Hmm...I take month long breaks in the summer time, or when I have no art classes.

Fuck yo teacher. Draw a monocle! Its not surrealism if there really IS a monocle on the turtle, now is it? You just draw 'em like you see 'em.

Pft, I'm not drawing a turtle ever again, fuck that. My concentration is deep sea fish, bitch.
