If you're losing an argument, BE THE GRAMMAR NAZI INSIIIDEEEEE!
Commonly misspelled words:
Your and you're. "Your" is possessive. Example: You dropped -your- keys. "You're" is the contraction of "you are". Example: You're so good at this game!
Then and than. "Then" is a transition word (though is could be used in the middle of your sentence). Example: Write your name, -then- write your essay on [topic]. Than is used when comparing something. Example: Milky Way is better -than- Crunch.
A and an. How I remember it is if the subject (cat, wolf, etc.) name starts with a vowel (for example, apple), then it's "an". Example: That's -an- amazing drawing!Β If it starts with a consonant (wolf, for example), then it's "a". Example: My friend has -a- cat.
If a ten year old (yes, I know I shouldn't have DA at ten... XD) can remember these, then I'm sure the rest of you can.
