First-time ever depicting a Kalos Legendary AND it is my first entry for 's Generation 6 Reloaded collab. Zygarde is certainly an interesting addition to the Kalos Legendary group, its 50% Form acting as a guardian during times of ecosystem disarray. According to my research, its Z-shaped, snake-like design appears to draw inspiration from Norse AND Asian cultures, barring resemblance to creatures like Jörmungandr (a sea serpent that encircles the Earth), Níðhöggr , a dragon that gnaws at the roots of Yggdrasil the "world tree", tsuchinoko , and snake-like nāga entities (which is all very neat!).

For my first attempt at its design, I wanted to centre on an incomplete formation (considering that it is at "50% completion" in the make-up of its cores and cells). There are two different bodily components: the hard, physical, scale-like components that are light-reflecting AND the blackish, nebulous components that are malleable. I (attempedt to ) drew the malleable components with speckled layering patterns as inspired by the 'shimmer' concept from the underrated science-fiction horror movie "Annihilation".
