Description ... and it's done!
I had to correct with Photoshop my scanner's failures, so I decided to upload the "before and after" work.
I've had some problems with the white, especially in the eyes and the lips, so if anyone has advices or critiques, please, feel free to speak!

Oh thank you so much!Β Β
Well, it didn't take that long, actually: 16 to 18 hours, I think. My problem is I can't work every day, as I'd like to, so it took me three weeks to complete it!

Ahhhhh
I love Felicity, great job, it's fantastic, I really like the sort of expression she's holding, perhaps focused, or maybe sadness.
I also like how fair the drawing is, as in light, it sort of matches her character.

Aww... this comment definitely made my day! Thank you sooo much for there superkind words!

I love Felicity, too: I think she's one of the best characters in Arrow (I don't know the comics, just the tv serie...), and when I saw the photo I used as a reference for this one I immediately fell in love with the feelings you described in the comment:Β sadness, for sure, and focus, but also kindness, empathy (Diggle's talking her of his past in the army) and maybe something else I just can't define...

No problem

I don't know Felicity from the comics either, if she is even in the comics. I'm so looking forward to season 3. I don't exactly know why, but I feel yours are better than mine, something you're doing. I'm trying a portrait now, and it just doesn't feel clean like yours.Β

I'm dying to see the third season too!Β Β

Well, thank you for appreciating my worksΒ so much, but keep in mind these are the latest results of a path started six yearsΒ ago... I was a complete disaster when I started, really! You're already at a good level (those eyes you drew are so expressive!), so I'm sure the portrait you're trying will come out really good!

On my earliest portraits, I used to blend it all a lot, I thought uniformity and smoothness were the key-words, but now I'm trying to focus on contrasts (one of the reasons why I chose this one, for example, is the strong contrast between light areas, which are completely white, and dark parts, which may have been even a little blacker...), to define volumes and shapes in a better way.

Sorry for being so long (and sorry for my terrible English... ^^'): anyway, I'd like to see your work finished or even the WIPs, if you'd like to upload them!
Good luck!

The English is fine to me

I've drawn with mostly pencil, not really leaving the comfort zone, and copying things that looked cool, but I was drawing without thinking about what I was doing, so about 2 weeks ago I started sketching, trying to learn basics, and drawing from imagination. I'll still draw from reference, but I won't copy, I'll sketch without measuring to get proportion, and I don't focus on contour while sketching.Β
I have drawing time, been drawing ever since I was 3, but I've only recently started being serious.Β

Thanks for all the feedback

Mmm, I haven't really left the comfort zone, and I still copy a lot (without a reference I'm completely lost!) but I think everyone has their own path and approach, after all...

At least for me, I feel it is important to leave the comfort zone. I'm pretty lost with out reference too, that's why 80% of what I draw without reference, will never be seen by anyone.

Well, I'm quite afraid of changes, and the fear of an eventual failure often prevents me from trying new experiences, but I'm aware that setting new challenges for ourselves is important... in the end, that's the only way that makes us grow up, as human beings, and also as artists...

Well, there are tons of works I'll never show anyone, but, hey, also this one (fav.me/d7waz20) in my intentions should have been seen only by my family, but since I posted it it's still receiving favs and positive comments, so... who knows?

Im slowly trying new things, not jumping into change to quickly, or too uncomfortably.

The link didn't take me anywhere. I'll post things I normally wouldn't, but not everything
