Description
Edit: Fixed up the animation a little bit so it's smoother.Cariannarz told me that his Mister Sparkles The Second (The First being my Pathos - his father), Helios was only half a point away from earning his laurels back and I decided to give them a quick hand
I had been meaning to try out this shading technique for a while. I know it has a fancy name in Portuguese which I can never remember, so I'm sure it has one in English too buuuut I only see it being referred to as "scribbling"
Anyway, here are 2.5 points for Helios which will put him past the 25 points mark. I hope you like it, Dean! <3

Holy snap, Jo, this is absolutely gorgeous! I'm in awe. And I love the shading... it looks very loose... gives him an ethereal air.

Thank you so much, Dyl! I'll definitely be using this shading style more often, it's very fun and relaxing to do!

OOoohHHHHhh, shiny!
The shading style looks really interesting and fits perfectly with all the sparkles!
I also love the proud pose but my favorite part in this picture are those kind eyes.
And sparkles. There can never be too much sparkles.

I really like how the eye came out too, I love drawing headshots because they allow me to portray much more expression than full body works <3
Thank you so much

You're welcome!
I think it is excactly like you said: you can put so much more expression (and details also) in a headshot than in full body. I guess all the point systems have made people dealing with created breeds appreciate well-made portraits too little; everyone are doing full-bodies with animation (which often lowers the quality of the picture) to get more points. (But this was just an observation, not a critique; everyone can choose what and how they draw and point systems are just ranking methods and not meant to guide what we draw.)

I know! I agree with you, and yes people are free to do whatever they like for their point systems, I just wish some of them were more set up to encourage people to push their skills farther.
Many groups have the whole "uncolored art" thing that I strongly dislike. Uncolored art as in sketches I can see it giving the horse a very small amount of points, but you can also make a fully shaded, detailed graphite piece with background that will count the same as a sketch.
I understand the need of having simple guidelines because if you just go on a case by case basis, admins for breeds as big as the Nordies for instance would have a VERY hard time counting points. But still, making it so that things such as shading and backgrounds count as stackable points (like animations do) would probably encourage people to put more detail into their head shots for instance, and actually push them to make an effort. Of course, any artist should try to push themselves without the need of extra points for incentive, like you said, but having those options would probably help increase the quality of artwork around these breeds (:

I totally agree with you.
But for sanity of admins and because people are tending to cheat to every system coming their way, the simplificated rules are needed even if those would punish someone for doing more work.
Maybe we just have to watch those point systems as "minimum requirements" and it is up to us what we are ready to put on the top of those requirements even if it didn't gain us any points.
