It's such a unique style, and it's always nice to see artwork like this. It can get pretty boring with everyone always trying to be anatomically correct and doing semi-realism/realism all the time.

I think this was meant to be a horse but I think the proportions need to be tweaked a bit. Right now the creature looks a bit dog like.

It's simply heavily stylized, but I can see how the exaggerated ears, the tiny muzzle combined with a pose that doesn't show much of him can lead people to be confused 
However, the mane, tail, shape of the butt and neck are distinctive horse features. Not even the dog breeds with the longest necks have necks that long, and no dog has a basic triangular neck shape, they're all cylindrical. Or butts as round as that
