I've been meaning to do this image for a long time.

Seriously are people gonna keep raggin on poor Samus for her breakdown. She had legitimate reasons for that.

Having a breakdown wasn't the issue, it's how the breakdown was not fitting for Samus' character or personality. She has always been brave and there have been times when she has been afraid, but to be this stunned against her mortal enemy made no sense and made Samus look weaker than she actually is. That's why there is so much rage.

Its true Samus has fought Ridley many times in battles that would have broken lesser individuals, but try to look at it this way. Ridley should have died in the final encounter on Zebes and even if he survived being shot up and falling into the acid pool in his lair, the destruction of Zebes WOULD have killed him, in fact it did, the Other M Ridley is a clone, but it's hatred for Aran must've gone to a genetic level for it to remember her. Now you have to remember that Ridley led the raid that destroyed Samus's home and killed her parents. Now imagine you killed your mortal enemy and finally gained closure only to see him seemingly rise to confront you yet again from the depths of hell, which I think is what they were going for with the whole magma generator thing. Samus may be tough, but she is first and foremost a HUMAN BEING, and we can only take so much before something snaps. Samus had clearly reached that limit in OTHER M. Where as others saw this as weakness and wussing out, I saw it as a reminder that Samus Aran, galactic heroin, veteran of the phazon wars, slayer of Ridley and Mother brain, was not some emotionalless, butch, GI Jane type character, but a human being who thinks, feels and reacts like one. Samus may have had her breakdown, but she charged back, HARD! and showed this fake Ridley why the original so loathed, hated and probably even feared her.

I am fairly certain the outcome is cannon. Since knowing(what little knowledge I have on the series) the characters, there is gonna be a fight and Samus will probably be walking away
