My very dear friend 's parents commissoned me to do a painting of their horses, Skippy! and Sweetie. I love these horses as if they were my own, and I love Mary's parents alot. I had alot of fun with this, because I know the horses' personalities so well and I like to think I have a strong connection with them.. at least I do whenever I bring treats
Gouache and a little bit of micron. Enjoy!

It's so different and refreshing than the usual stuff I see on DA. I love this style and extreme exaggeration of the horses' anatomy.

Yeah, we lost contact for a minute there, but we've started emailing each other quite frequently. I miss her more than she knows, I'm sure ;; But she's doing well and owns her own training facility and has a house and land and horses and everything 
Sweetie is Skippy!'s mum.. and boy is she lovely! I should post a pic of those two sometime. They have the same noses, but are on like.. the opposite end of the color spectrum XD

It's no wonder Mary's been very scarce on the internets, then! Sounds like she's got quite a colourful pallet of life going on for her at the moment, so I don't blame her internet absence at all. That's just life.
I never would have guessed Sweetie had any relation to Skippy!
