It's became the wide-screen standard and the fastest growing new resolution. In my opinion wallpapers should always be made and distributed in at least 1920x1200 as downsizing is preserving quality far better then up-scaling. Also 1920x1200 can be cropped to 1600x1200 for old fashion monitors but 1600x1200 cannot be stretched to 1920... Do I confuse you guy's already?
The point is, distribute everything in 2560 x 1600 and you make everyone happy!
