Description
~As if awaking from a daze, Alexander surveyed the destruction. He was in terrible need of a bath but hardly cared. Frowning, the man scrubbed aside blood from off his breast. Only to become baffled. The wound was gone. Quickly, he checked himself over. They were all gone. Even old battle scars had been erased. Alexander sighed heavily. His physical body seemed completely reborn in beauty unmarred while deep inside, the Dacian was left completely torn asunder. It was as if he'd welcomed a great storm into the core of his being and let it blow its course a thousand times. In its wake, he'd been left but broken and battered, chilled and desolate."That is how tis to be, then? Renewed to live the torment unending?" ~
"...To keep from falling completely into despair, the Dacian entertained his mind by attempting to remember and recogonize landmarks. The sun peeked in a cool day but clouds gathered at the far horizon. It would not rain this day, but precipitation was likely to fall on the morrow. That simple fact only proved to dishearten Alexander more. He was Dacian. Dacians did not care for the clouds.
Xander walked until his trembling legs gave out. Wearily, he collapsed and lay where he fell. The newblood slipped into a fitful rest only to be awakened much later by the pattering of droplets upon his bare skin. Groggily, the knight groaned. He shifted and found his trousers to be sodden with mud and rain. The icy water droplets had begun to chisel away at the muck tarnishing his glorious bronze plane. The chill of the stuff, though, soaked into his bones. Shivering, Alexander crawled to his feet. It would do no good to lay prone to either drowning or freezing to death. Frowning, the Dacian lifted one clawed hand to the wind in an attempt to keep the downpour out of his eyes. He used his other hand to grip tight to the wrappings of his sword’s pommel. The act worked to not only stead the blade in its sheath as he trotted, but to also cover the crosspiece partially from rainfall. The trusted weapon would have to prove his security blanket now as it had done countless times in the past. Alexander had failed but the knight’s blade remained true.
Cold, hungry, and exhausted through-and-through, the vampire finally came upon a natural ditch. The recess of rain water over the years had carved into the earth, whiddling away the dirt and leaving behind a small scar. With the onslaught of rain pounding from above, a racing streamlet had formed. Hunkering down with his back to the ridge of soil did Alex place himself. The Dacian’s bronze chest rose and fell in gaping breaths. Each shuddered in a ragged manner as it passed sharp fangs. Xander was sure he’d become so soaked as to have water on the lungs. Quivering, the man knelt near the water. It wasn’t exactly the cleanest, but for all the water readily available he was thirsty. He cupped his cold hand into the frigid water and sipped at the liquid. It tasted foul. Spatting and coughing, Alex shook his head. The undead curled back against the muddy rise.
Even with the mound offering what it might to break the wind, nature attacked the vampire with all its force. It was angry such a perversion was seeking sanctuary nestled close to its womb. Alexander whimpered and drew his arms to lace about his knees as he hugged them close. “Misery be my constant companion forevermore,” the knight quipped wryly. Alone and in a mood most dreary, he wished the rain falling were wine instead. How gratefully glorious twould be to drown himself witless. For while conscience, Xander felt unending torment. Snorting in self-depreciation, the knight closed his grey eyes. And his stomach rumbled...." ~ excerpts from A glimpse of mine sorrow

hehe thanks, I'll likely need it hehehe.... oh yay! I'm glad you read the lil excerpts heh...it helps add flavor to it since then it helps people better understand what the picture's all about
heh.... Alexander's my baby...he means a lot to me heh...and his is the story I'm actually attempting to one day publish...."A glimpse of mine sorrow" is an older piece and needs a lot of editing especially due to some....rearranging with whom is co-authoring the stories with me...but the writing itself needs some editing too. I wrote it on and off at work a couple of years ago working at a seasonal calendar booth lol...and for that it's pretty good hehehe....
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm a storyteller at heart...and my greatest joy is to share stories through art and writing ^^ lol writing isn't the easiest thing in the world but it can be a lot of fun ^^

hehe thankies ^^ I tried to really think about the whole of the content and get just the right feeling across...mixed with accuracy to the story and what happened as well as truly focusing a lot on capturing the emotions of the moment heh. Adding the extra blue to the image really seemed to add a lot of life to it. Glad that Alex's expression really comes across too. so glad you like it!
and thanks for the fav sweety!
