Let me take you away from her for a minute. They were ambushed by Grimm. There were too many for them to handle. Ruby's the only one out of their group to die. When they went back to their dorm room, they found something on Ruby's bed. Her Crescent Rose, her scroll and her hood. The scroll had a message that was programed to play at the time of her death. She told Yuki and the others to be strong. And to keep fighting no matter how hopeless things seemed. Her and Yuki were close. Almost like sisters. So when Ruby died, she was devistated. After those final directions, Ruby gave Yuki her all of her belongings and her position as Leader of team RWBY. She still hasn't recovered. This help at all?
