Description Finally made a simple visual guide on how i do slime/goo stuff! It should be noted that i do use Photoshop and not SAI. but quite honestly you should be able to do the same stuff in SAI!

  • Start with your base color (and i usually do a darker tone/hue of the base color for line art)
  • Use whatever color you find fitting for your shading color (i tend to use a neutralized blue/grey or whatever my base color is and set it to multiply) and on figures, i create a “core”, that would be the densest part of the goo.
  • Then erase areas that would be highlighted later
  • use whatever color you think would be best to highlight with. I tend to use a lighter color/hue from the base and set the layer to overlay. Then i create another layer and add a few pure white dots.
  • as far as brushes, i use two: standard photoshop brush for line art and hard erased areas, and then a brush i have called Paletteknife, which is basically a translucent painting brush. I use this brush for most of the shading and some of the high lights.

I hope this is helpful! so go friends and create goo and slime creatures and whatever B)
