im aware of that, though that was in attempt to be loyal to his clan as well as to obey the code. it's more of a law obeying thing than a moral thing. i understand why you'd dislike him though lol

Reedshine is his wife. He cheated on her with mapleshade. He didnt obey the code because it was morally right to do so- he did it because he was scared of retribution. I think appledusk was a coward who was only loyal to his clan when it benefited him, and the only truly good thing he did in his life was to save reedshine.

Oh yeah don't get me wrong mapleshade is a villain. She belongs in the dark forest. She murdered three people.
However like, there's also some weird stuff with how she was maaaaybe written to have had a schizophrenic break, she has some really specific symptoms but it's hard to tell if it's a coincidence
But all in all I'd say the real asshole is oakstar who banished three innocent two month old kits during flood season lol. Like where were they going to go? They were at war with every clan, and they were throwing HANDS with the kittypets, and like at the time crystal was over there and she yowled at a FOX, like, these were some tough kittypets who attacked patrols. The only place she could go was across the river- he knowingly sent them to what was almost certainly their death. That's breaking the warrior code. They didn't do anything wrong.

honestly it's probably a coincidence. the erin writers DO mess up on their own lore and characters, and i wouldn't be surprised if it was a coincidence since their stories aren't the most solid
