Second season should hopefully get to that, the execs said that they would keep most of the Prime stuff out until then. Even then, maybe not, since they're keeping RID kid friendly (as Prime was, hehe, not really).

Sadly true, but they did say to expect some of the older cast members later so I am hopeful to see Raf and Soundwave show up. I'd like to know what they've been up to in the interim.

i would love to see raf show up... but bee said that his contacts were all out of date in the first episode, and it's been like, twenty years since tfp. :[ who knows where raf is these days or even what he looks like

20 plus 12 (and a quarter) just makes 32. For all we know between the hectic nature of rebuilding Cybertron and soothing over Autobot/Decepticon relations and whatever it is genius prodigies scooped up by the government do, they just grew apart. If anything this could set up for Raf to play stranger until Bee realizes why he seems so familiar. I hold out hope. I think only Fowler would be in danger of expiring over two decades. Who knows, maybe Jack took his place as head of Unit E.

POTENTIALLY and while i would absolutely ADORE SEEING RAF IN RID AS AN ADULT i... i mean i've seen the first thirteen episodes and i feel like if he was playing stranger like, there would be SOME character around it could possibly be, but like, there's only two main humans and like only two other humans with more than one or two speaking lines... there's just not a lot of variety with the human characters for some reason.Β
i think if he did show up it would be season 2 at best
but i doubt they would give us that. they never even gave him screentime in tfp. sigh.

Ah, so I'm not the only one who noticed Raf got rather shafted when it came to screen time.
Miko got a story arc, Jack got three, even Fowler got to strut his stuff. But Raf didn't even get to enjoy Operation Bumblebee. Of course if the episode commentary is the be believed, the writers just didn't know what to do with him. BUT THEN they reveal they abandoned a story idea for "One Shall Fall" wherein his dark energon infection linked him to Unicorn's mind, they play up a rivalry he could have had with Soundwave, and even introduce tech-based human villains who'd have made for an interesting counterpoint to his own morality...
Any wonder I write fanfiction for him? Loved Prime but they weren't very good to the character. Personally I think Hasbro was over correcting from the movies. That and someone was afraid of scaring the censors by involving him in the war. Heck, a friend of mine showed me a great story idea that could have been implemented in the third season.

Yeah, sadly most of the fics I read that start out staring him somewhat devolve into dealing with OCT he encounters taking the center stage. Gets annoying.
