28/02/2015 UPDATED AGAIN: So I was looking through my gallery and came accross this again and wanted to redo it AGAIN (i like seeing my improvement shhh) i should have waited till april but i was feelign it now
so theres nearly 2 years of improvement ;v;

that sexy ass doge on the left I drew on my old account earlier this year when i started art, it was one of my first ever drawing in Paint tool sai omf
hahaha and the cute doge on the right is the same doge <333 but I drew this today ;v;
I personally think I am slowly improving but ill get there <333
OMG I thought this character was so horrible when i looked at it again with the colours and everything but i actually like the colours now that i re-drew it LOL

I guess I just draw lots and I always try new things and find things that motivate me
Also I'm never happy with my style or anatomy or anything
Soon I plan on trying to take a huge step and do something completely different from what I do now

I'm trying to improve, but haven't been able to much. It's good to hear how others do it!

Just draw lots, but draw when you feel like drawing
Don't try and force it
Be ready to fail, you will fail A LOT but that's normal
You can't learn or improve without failing. When you do a drawing and say you don't like how it turned out, Why? What don't you like then practice those boys and next time try to fix up what you didn't like and see how it turns out then
Try new things, if you try something and you don't like it all that much, do it your own way or try something else
But most of all have fun, look at things/find things that motivate you
Like I find lots of motivation by looking at my fav artists or watching animated movies/shows
But you may find your motivation somewhere else
Don't try to force a drawing, if you draw and go I want to improve so I gotta draw all the time but you don't feel like drawing, you'll usually be really unhappy
But if there's a time where you're like omg I want to draw so bad right now I have a cool idea
No matter what time take it, those feeling may not come very often so use that burst of motivation and draw like the wind
I'm talking too much XD
1 last thing tho
Don't expect to improve really fast, improvement is like losing weight, it takes time to do it right and healthy you can't expect to love 30 kg in a week
Yes there are some shortcuts but these shortcuts will just end up being bad for you
Be patient
Lol I'm not really eligible to give this kind of advice since I haven't been doing art for long
But this is what I tell myself ahaha
