Description
Name: TriceratopsMeaning: Three-Horned Face
Time Period: Late Cretaceous
Native Land: North America
Height: 14-15 ft
Length: 29-30 ft
Weight: 20,000 lbs
Diet: Herbivore; shrubs, bushes, ferns, and small trees
Genetic or Other abnormalities: snake-like scales and mid-neoteny (having a half grown frill)
Danger Level: pretty dangerous
Info: One of the most famous dinosaurs on Isla Sorna and Jurassic Park. Along with the stegosaurus, the Triceratops is one of the most armed animal around; with their horns, plate-like scales, and herding behavior. Instead of grinding its food like hadrosaurs, it chopped it meal with its shearing dentl battery (back teeth). They live in herds up to 10 or 30 (since the island is small, it won't allow it to herd in numbers up to 500 indivduals as they did in the past), mostly consisting of a few bulls, females and young, the other males live alone or in bachelor groups. With their newly-added scales, it makes it diificult for predators (including t-rex) to take them down. But like most reptiles, triceratops' scales are weak in the neck area and the belly area.
